which of them, in your opinion, better reflects gratitude for the publication?

I donā€™t see an ā€œidiotā€ here, Iā€™m sorry

For me, this is just a disagreement, but I may not know the generally accepted meanings.

if a few more people confirm that this is an offensive emoji, I will remove it

I would prefer the trophy (First one)

as for the :-1: and :man_facepalming: i feel both should be removed on the context of a forum is to discuss the positives and the negatives , and if someone disagrees with a comment instead of commenting on why they disagree (after all if they took the time to read a comment and then searched for an emoji why not go a little bit further and explain why you disagree ,instead they use the afore mentioned emojis. the facepalm emoji as been universally accepted across most platforms as the emoji for stupid /dumb/ idiot etc , , but i think in the case of the members that use that emoji the most on this platform are the few members that like to ruffle the feathers of other members here and a few of them have recieved timeouts for there negativity on the forum , obviously nobody expects everyone to agree with everyone , but when you get one or two members who abuse the use of the emojis as some little private pathetic gameplan they have ,then thats when it becomes a problem

Good idea. Maybe it helps to get a bit of negativity out of here. :hugs:

I donā€™t see an ā€œidiotā€ there either. Leave it. It was removed once before and put back in place, I believe due to high demand.

it seems to me that emojis should only set off the attitude that they want to express.
There is no need to rely on emojis as a full-fledged assessment.
you are right, whoever wants to speak out will speak out, the rest only indicate their attitude to what is written with the help of emojis.
First, there should be pictures that show both a negative attitude and disagreement.
secondly, you just need to treat emojis easier, do not consider them as a statement, but only for the mood at the moment of the one who put it (perhaps right now he is upset or angry about something else)

Iā€™m sorry, but communicating with emoji is not the best idea, but explaining the tone in which it is written is quite good

Donā€™t take small pictures too personally

Hereā€™s my simple solution for the scroll-jumping bug. When I want to check out what has been going on in a topic with 50 new replies, if thereā€™s nice photos or videos, I first go to the last post using the slider on the right side, then scroll upwards through the messages in reverse order.

I personally would like to see the two glasses and the cake emojiā€™s reinstated as well. Thank you for taking the time to raise this topic

So, by giving me a thumbs down emoji because you disagree with my opposing opinion, what are you calling me? I disagreed with your comment, but I didnā€™t give you either of those emojis. Even if I had given you one of those emojis, I wouldnā€™t think you were an idiot, just somebody with a differing opinion.

Is your comment one of those, do as I say but Iā€™ll do is I please, kind of opinions?

Yes, please
I donā€™t see anything wrong with that

Thank you for a quick and positive response.

When you read a post, you can ignore whether you agree or not.
the thumbs down just means I respect your opinion and donā€™t agree.
ā€œMan face palmingā€
expression from my country. means stupid/idiot and I have no right to call any member that.
all due respect (end of subject)

Well, if thatā€™s what you think it means in your country, then donā€™t use it on this forum. Simple.

Just because it may mean that in your country doesnā€™t mean it has the same meaning anywhere else, such as this forum. On this forum it doesnā€™t mean stupid or idiot, that Iā€™m aware of. Itā€™s a symbol of exasperation, or frustration.

"The facepalm emoji (:person_facepalming:) represents frustration, disbelief, embarrassment, or disappointment. It typically signifies someone reacting to a situation or comment by figuratively (or literally) covering their face with their hand, as if to say, ā€œI canā€™t believe this happened,ā€

And, you donā€™t get to decide when a subject is ended. A conversation is over when itā€™s done, when itā€™s reached its logical conclusion, and thatā€™s not for you to declare.

Personally I never use the facepalm expression. Down to my own personal choice. A matter of what I want or not. :fire: :fire:

I am here since i think 2021, first only the website and later the forum
made some nice contacts here and been to good and bad times, just like real life

Way before Facebook was launched we had Hyves in the Netherlands, there was a wonderfull emoji named the dancing banana , which can be used on several occasions, maybe it would be good to have it here too

It is a more positive vibe than the facepalm. That is for sure.

I just think it is enough negativity in the existance as it already is in the first place. I don`t have to create even more negativity. :slightly_smiling_face: :smiling_face_with_three_hearts:

@GreenTourmaline Can we please do something against such subtle bullying of participants like Carlos does with basically every place when there are no lights?
Example here:

I mean if somebody writes like that as a joke it is okay but that guy is serious and bullies participants all the time with it. He even gives thumbs downs to photos participants post themselves when there is not enough light for him. For me personally this is no longer funny and should be stopped.

I would like to hear your opinion about that.
