Then I assume @ed2 just clicked one Bedroom camera which wasn’t streaming until 18.42 and was rebooted due to kind @Darkknight1973 report. Timeline was available all this time as we didn’t take apartment offline and you can enjoy Candy Red’s Sunday chilling.

But the rule still exists (though we’ve changed it a little and apartment is offline when participant is not at home at 48 hours). And we really turn place online only when managers tell us to

Yes, sorry. When I opened it it was on cam 4, maybe something happened so that that time stuck with me when I changed cam. Thank you for pointing out.
But my point about this rule in general still stands.

Why can’t the participants be more responsible and inform VHTV of their situation when they know they won’t be back within that period of time, certainly I don’t think it is that hard to do. Also you assume VHTV are monitoring timings so that they would know when a participant has been away for 24hrs when it is more than likely that they have been informed by an outside source.

I don’t disagree with this. It should be pretty easy for the participants to follow. But it still happens from time to time that participants break this anyway. It shouldn’t happen, but it does. And when it does, VHTV punish us viewers for it. It’s the participants who should be sanctioned.
Also, about monitoring, or whether they base it on tickets from viewers, it doesn’t really matter. If they have enough information to put it offline, then they also have enough information to take other measures.

I don’t have any idea about how monetisation works here, but even if that were the case it would likely be a scant fraction of normal - or could be disab__d for the duration. That would be motivation to give accurate notification of being away and returning!

Well, the thing is, I don’t even see the point of putting it offline for absences in the first place. There are other ways to deal with and tackle these issues. Ways wich are probably both better and simpler. One way is to simply subtract these hours from the paycheck afterwards. It would have the exact same effect. RLC has a significant fee for unreported absence of more than 24 hours. So there are other ways to solve the problems around empty apartments.

It is VHTV who swear to put apartents offline when they have been left empty for a whole day. It is not necessary, but that is how they have chosen to do it. I’m just saying that they should maybe take a look into this routine of theirs. Try to find a better way, and try to ensure that we don’t loose hours every time they have to go to this step. How exactly they want to do it, with quicker reporting or whatever, I don’t know. It’s their business! I’m just pointing out that this (atleast for me) is a cause for frustration.

Offtopic, and if so I look forward to seeing where it ends up, but if monetisation is based on viewership, which makes sense, what happens if I have more than one window up at a time? Hopefully that’s tracked… (I imagine it’s something like, each target gets half of what my viewing would normally give them?)

You just forgot to add the decrease of the service for viewers opening empty apartments during all that time (and yes 48H is way to much to close an empty apartment)

possibly another thing to do is just keep the cams online unless the tennants are going to be on vacation and be gone for a length of time. I also see alot of time missed by cams going offline and not returning after tennants have arrived back home
