Kimi is the deserved winner, with two consecutive victories. Congratulations.
But when it comes to the technology—specifically the batteries and, above all, battery charging in and before corners—I’m still a bit cautious in my assessment. Okay, this is new, and both the teams and the drivers first need to put it all into practice and understand it during the race.
Still, I believe we’ll see even more exciting races this season. Because once other teams, like Ferrari and McLaren, get a better handle on the technology.
I don’t think Mercedes will run away with it. Even though they’re currently the benchmark. At least when it comes to race performance and race speed.
So far it looks like a repeat of Russell and Hamilton, where Mercedes is concerned. Because in the last couple of season, when they were team mates. Russell was always out performing Hamilton especially in qualifying.
Well, now the two of them aren’t teammates anymore.
But it’ll be interesting to see how Russell behaves toward his current teammate, Kimi.
So far, he’s been the better driver, but now that Kimi is dominating and getting all the attention, I’m curious to see how Russell will react if the two of them end up battling for a podium spot.
That’s why I compared Antonelli & Russell, to the days when Russell was Hamilton’s teammate, because it looks like a repeat scenario, the No.2 driver doing better than their leading driver.
And that is going to piss Russell off, exactly the same way he pissed Hamilton off.
let’s hope that the FIA and F1 learned from that horrible crash
and they take action before someone really gets hurt
both drivers are not to blame for the crash, only thing is 45 kmh speed difference because of the battery issue
Shame about the crash, and the injury Bearman received, but let’s hope that everyone sits down, and learns from that and ‘BIG’ time, as I think it won’t be long before 1 car becomes a pile up.
And they’ve got 5 weeks to iron that problem. And also all the other team especially Aston & Red Bull, get their problems sorted and start making moves up the grid.
I would say the new rules has back fired big time. Get the proper racing back to Formula One. ![]()
This stupid battery and its associated drive system have far too much influence on the car.
They should significantly shift the balance between the conventional powertrain (turbocharger, etc.) and the battery-powered drive in favor of the conventional powertrain. Perhaps a 75-to-25% ratio. Because right now, everything is geared toward the battery booster. And everything is focused on that. And if drivers use the battery booster during the race, they should only be allowed to do so in specific zones. Similar to how it used to be with the DRS zones.
Or the technology should be modified so that everyone has only one battery charge, from which they might be able to use two or more booster charges. Where only the driver decides when to use the battery. And when the battery is empty, it’s just empty. And the crazy practice of recharging the battery in and behind the corners would no longer exist.
Racing/testing at the Nordschleife is more fun than F1 Suzuka with the battery powered cars..
This was today, Max got straight here from Japan, back to winter conditions
Tsunoda back?
They are big fools that they did not ask Daniel Ricciardo back, his racing number is already on the car, so no big changes!
Well he seems to be more motivated then Max lately. But they could have also asked Seb
So lang die alte Mudder nix mitbekommt, is’ nüscht los
De Kimi Raikkönen, der letzte Ferrari-Weltmeister, hat die Lösung für die Batteriewooschdprobleme gefunde.
I thought he invented the Wodka injection ![]()
