Max and George at Mercedes that will be fun.
Doubt they will both be there, George’s contract is up at the end of this season and seems to be a stalemate, seems Mercedes are trying to get George to sign ASAP and George is waiting on what Max is doing
“Silly season” is in full effect now
Interviews with the British Press today
Horner told Sky Sports F1 "It is a lot of noise. I think Max gets quite annoyed by it. We are very clear with the contract that we have with Max until 2028.
“So, anything is entirely speculative that is being said, but we tend not to pay too much attention to it.”
He added: "I can imagine that George is frustrated he hasn’t been given a contract yet, but that’s between him and his team.
“The situation with Max, we know clearly where we’re at and obviously as does Max. Everything is subject to noise and, obviously, within any contract it remains confidential between the parties.”
McLaren chief executive Zak Brown says “Red Bull would be behind Racing Bulls [without Verstappen]. They have done a great job and have a great racing car. I think Max is carrying them at the moment.”
“I’m a believer of when there’s smoke, there’s fire. If everyone was committed to their seats, that’s what they would be saying,” Brown told Sky Sports F1
“The fact everyone’s talking and no one is confirming anything, tells me there are conversations going on. I said a while ago I wouldn’t be surprised to see Max in a Mercedes.”
But wouldn’t Aston Martin be the better choice in long term?
Depends if Max wants long term, are Mercedes more likely to be a challenger then Aston Martin? Regardless I think he will do till 2028 in F1 before leaving to do other series elsewhere
Well Aston Martin will have the same engine but a car built by Adrian Newey…
why would Max change to Mercedes in a car that ends the race over a minute behind the winner?
If he changes teams ( which he denies untill now in every interview) he would be better in his place at Aston Martin, they have a brand new factory, brand new windtunnel, the have Adrian Newey and they have the Honda engine next year, and his close friend Fernando Alonso is there, maybe as a driver or maybe as third diver, or another leading role
Sorry I must have missed the bit where Aston Martin are quicker then the Mercedes, Anyway it’s a reset next year so who knows what the difference will be
That’s all great but its Mercedes with a possible free seat next season George’s contract ends this season and Aston Martin don’t currently have that with both drivers signed untill end of 26
