You are right. It’s certainly very much down to the car. It’s just too tailored to Max. And Yuki, Liam and Perez couldn’t compensate for that on their own. We see a similar situation at Ferrari, where Hamilton hasn’t really got to grips with the car yet.
But shouldn’t the drivers and their engineers be able to tailor the car better to the drivers? After all, they are Formula 1 professionals. And there have already been 11 races.
Yuki’s lack of self-confidence certainly adds to this. After the accident in Imola

I would just say it is super bad and somehow Max is able to get out more of it. Sure because of the fact it is tailored to him but still it is just bad. The normal performance you see when you look at the performance of his co-drivers

‘I think it’s like any sport. If you start to not be in that flow state and you’re having to really think about it, you don’t have that confidence in the car’.

Nevertheless, everyone has to find out for themselves what level of sharpness they can tolerate or handle. To then develop their full potential
and not copy Max’s sharpness. Then it can’t work. Because no rider has 100% identical attributes

I agree but it seems Red Bull don’t, they build 2 identical cars and say go race
McLaren are doing it differently, Lando & Oscar have different set ups and different Parts available to them, Lando is running a different type of Suspension to Oscar, McLaren allow the drivers to choose what is best for the driver not just what appears to be quicker on the wind tunnel program

That’s how it should be.
And only good drivers with a bit of technical understanding can develop cars competitively with their engineers.
Rather than drivers who can only steer the cars around corners.

What nonsense is that? No leniency it’s a typical first corner incident
“The Stewards determine that, although the incident happened in Lap 1, no other cars influenced the incident and the driver of Car 12 is fully at fault. Therefore the more lenient approach to judging Lap 1 incidents has not been applied in this case.
However, they also acknowledge that the incident was not a blatant attempt to dive into the corner but rather a result of the evasive action after locking up.”
