A suspension from the next World Cup would be justified. Apparently, some of the Argentine players need some extra time to reflect on what they did. 
That said, I wouldn’t punish the whole team for it - only those who were responsible.
The FBI are still investigating the Argentine FA into an alleged 300 million dollar money laundering and fraud transactions through Banks in Florida.
Even if there’s some truth to it, I seriously doubt the national team players have anything to do with it. Unfortunately, corruption is a problem all over the world.
Quite agree with you the players would have no idea how the Argentine FA conduct their financial affairs.
Well, I’m not going to hold my breath that any serious punishments will be handed down. FIFA in itself is beyond corrupted in my opinion. I’m already wondering how many palms are being greased (with money) to let this slide as much as possible.
I don’t think FIFA will take any further action regarding the players, nor will it take any action against the association. No sanctions, nothing. Because, after all, it will be the same as always. FIFA won’t address these issues anymore. And in four years, at the next World Cup, no one will care anymore.
I think it’s more likely that, in the coming months, we’ll be talking—and will have to talk—more and more about the further commercialization of the World Cup by Mr. Infantino.
Because he wants to sell more shares of the World Cup to private investors.
And if I’m not mistaken, there’s even a crisis meeting today involving all 50 UEFA member associations on this very topic.
It has just been announced that if FIFA go ahead with the proposed deal to sell stakes to private investors that all 55 Countries affiliated to UEFA will boycott the World Cup.
I’m curious to see if everyone will really stick with it when things get serious.

I agree. Just change the title and let’s move on. Because the old World Cup is over. And all the posts coming in now are about the new World Cup…!
And if you thought that I thought FIFA was corrupt before! I think it will only get worse. FIFA and the World Cup is over as we know it today if this actually comes to fruition and not for the best.
