Those are the two incidents I was referring to. I thought they could certainly be counted as attempted shots on goal, even though both shots were a bit of a faff and the balls were difficult to take…

Kane failed… and a Blue player crossed the edge of the penalty area a fraction of a second too early… without actually interfering with play. The fact that this results in a retake is a rule I don’t really understand…so the retake happening was Croatia’s own fault…
For me, the only thing that matters is: Kane failed

It all depends on who you end up facing in the knockout stage. If you run into France or Argentina in the quarterfinals, it basically feels like you’re already playing the final. 
Spain could give off the same vibe too, if they’re back to their usual top level.

Ecactly. And we need to see at least a second match from all the teams to better determine how good they really are.
That certainly applies to most teams - even Germany. But with England, I don’t need a second match. That is a new England, and after today’s performance…
Especially as Croatia are a really tough side to play against - nothing like Curaçao, for example.
