Do you guys have something better to do? This is fun. I love proving Timmy wrong about everything.
Don’t worry @X192023 I have moved on! I will let Lennie boy think whatever he wishes to think. If Lennie boy wants to keep bragging he is right so be it. As I said to K&K it is not fair to them to keep on about this as it is off topic, but Lennie boy doesn’t want to let it drop, so get on to him, not me!!!
Thanks
@David you have nothing to apologise for my friend, I am mature enough to say the discussion has run its course, it is up to others to think the same.
Not really sure it was ever about prejudice at all. It is just tacit power play i.e. I have power over you in an argument because you did not use the right term or you used the wrong term and by the way we make the rules as to what you can or can’t say otherwise we shall be ‘offended.’
None of it matters in the real world except where it imperils free speech that people have died to defend.
No that most certainly was NOT why I made the initial comment, which ( admittedly, rather unfortunately) started all of this!
Your comment was well written and summed it up pretty good!
Yes, that is what started it all, my response to your comment.
OMG lets not go through all that again for gods sake
I could not agree more and this WILL be my final comment in relation to that particular subject.
You may have to wait long time Lennie i think so why not be the bigger guy and just let it ride eh you don’t have anything to prove.
Others problem not yours.
Thanks, robwin. Timmy boy needs to account for calling me prejudice. He also said I was “fucking stupid”, “disrespectful and insulting”. He needs to be the bigger boy and apologies!
I 100% agree with you Rob and its directional transference of the topic, ‘if I cannot win like this then I will add a more controversial edge to it.’
I grew up in a gay society in the UK in Brighton and the gay people there aren’t a 1/4 as sensitive as the poor sensitive souls here.
While we are at it, can we heterosexuals have our word ‘gay’ back as the word gay arrived in English during the 12th century from Old French gai, and in English, it meant ‘joyful’, ‘carefree’, ‘bright and happy’.
However, since the 1960s homosexual men started using the term gay for themselves celebrating and being joyful and proud of their gayness and rightly so, but why monopolise the word for themselves?
But ever since then we poor heterosexual men haven’t been able to use the word gay as in the sense of ‘I am feeling really gay today’ without a wink and a nod to the toilet.
Therefore, I am starting a petition to gain this phrase back for all happy people without any other suggested meaning than happiness.
Yes, I know I am being stupid but why change the tune of the thread’s subject?
Well said young man, i only ever knew the happy meaning of the word from my youth and have never understood how it got monopolised by the homosexual community, maybe it made them happy getting someones dick up their ass Sorry to be rather crude but can’t think of any other explanation
Where do i sign by the way
As always @anon31605929 you raise some interesting comments and mainly I agree with what you have said. I don’t agree with you saying homosexual men monopolised the word for their own sexuality. The term gay started to be used and it sort of stuck and I think the vast majority of homosexual men are quite happy to be called gay. That is as long as the term gay is used correctly and not used in a derogatory or offensive way. There is a difference.
I like your tongue in cheek remark about claiming the word gay back to its original meaning of being joyful and happy etc. Can we also apply that to the word straight which is used to describe heterosexual people. If we are claiming back the word gay then that equally applies to the word straight.
It seems bisexual people don’t have a label or term to represent their sexuality, unless you use the word bi, but to me that is just shortening the word bisexual.
Of course, people are not going to agree if it doesn’t fit within their own narrative, but sadly, history proves you wrong as the word gay is solely used within the gay community now. Of course, what I wrote was all tongue in cheek, with a huge garnish of factual truth.
I think you are referring to another derogatory interpretation of the word ‘bent’ here, where heterosexual men referred to themselves as straight meaning in their sense of the word normal. Just another pathetic divisionary ploy to ostracize gay people.
Most of the gay people that I knew when I grew up had thick skins. They had to due to being persecuted for their sexuality and as I said they aren’t so sensitive as they know people are stupid and will always criticize something that is outside of their perceived normal worlds, so they don’t even bother with these idiots.
Can we also get back the word pussy which means female cat. Also the word ass that means donkey.
