It’s better that the little action you do have is genuine and real. Keep doing what you want to do. I think that has made your apartment better (or at least different) than many other apartments.
Just a suggestion. You talk about spending a lot of time in the gym. Have you thought about getting some simpler equipment for your apartment? Like a treadmill, or an exercise bike? Of course, you would still go to the gym most of the time, but you could mix it up a little bit. Once in a while, you could exercise at home, without being gone all day.
