in the modern world, it is generally difficult to talk about this. It is not enough to belong to any gender from birth, for some it is only a hindrance.
and English makes it possible to say a lot of things without revealing your gender

I am very late… sorry.
I have to apologise for using the facepalm myself. I did not know it had a bad reputation here. I was under the impression that it was just a bit under the neutral emotion. Like the everyday life when you hit your head for some silly things you just did or said but that have no real importance.
May I suggest changing the names of all emoticons to reflect their meaning and perhaps… placing them in orders also ?
I am on the team of leave the good and the bad there. why removing them if not censuring what is discussed or commented ?
Knowing the meaning of each ones would probably solve a lot of misunderstanding and I like looking at the mood of the crowd as oppose to… not to name it… a social networking site where you have to watch the entire video before discovering it is just a dull click bait with no contents. same with a certain video platform…
you perfectly understand the way you should threat a voyeur… the voyeur will stay voyeur until all is revealed. keep the suspense and the expectation active and just let go little bits at the time… Unfortunately… in the end, if you did not reveal enough at the right moment… the dream is going away and the interest will be lost.
I don’t know you much but I actually find this interesting. You seem to have a real good common sense and moreover you are mastering (or close to) the diplomacy.
I hope you’ll stay around for a while until at least you reveal a bit more 
BTW : found the site around one year ago as an occasional visitor. I got to the forum page couple months before they remove the link and I was desperate to find my way back here. First comment was to mention that I would probably never share my credit card infos with this site… Apparently I changed my mind afterwards… But… I will not renew if things are not getting better. (just to keep the pressure)
The forum is nice the way it is in my opinion except maybe as I mentioned in a post just above here… I suggested to rename those emoji to reflect their true meaning.
One thing I would add is something like a WikiHow…
How to navigate efficiently in realms,
How to navigate in the timeline… Either I am not knowing at all or it is very complicated…

I do not think it is correct to give clear definitions of the meaning of emoticons
firstly - not everyone will get to know this
anyway, secondly - there will be wild debates about how and where it is customary to read “this” smiley face one way or another
thirdly - each of us is an “artist” and sees in his own way
if someone wants to express something specific, there are words for it
if someone is too lazy to write in words and a smiley face is enough, then why should I be offended by this
and in the end, what if someone just missed the mouse and clicked on the wrong smiley face?
For example, I won’t take offense.
I would advise you to interpret the answers and emoticons in a way that is pleasant to the reader.
To be happy, you don’t have to understand EXACTLY WHAT everyone meant when they poked a mouse at a picture.

I can live with this no problems as I use the emoticons to get the general mood only. It was a suggestion more for the ones that seems to be categorized as the insulting ones an/or for the ones that are easily affected by them.
I have reach a stage in my life where I have left my ego behind to pick up the smile that always seems to far in front of me… I realized that ego and smile are on the same medal… you can’t see both face at once.

I’m not sure it will. Just a gut feeing that with them gone it’s going to cause more typed out negative responses and in turn causing more “heated” discussions we don’t want.

Just a simple request regarding the comment box on the forum and the following picture and video explains what I mean.

They will know where to look for the solution on Discourse and all I was doing was suggesting a better more useful function for the comment box and I am well aware it is from Discourse, but I cannot do anything about it hence the request.

Most forum systems like this have moduals that you just plug-in as an extra fuction or theme components that have extra functionality such as this:

simplicity at its finest another appropiatly hidden tool 
but then again along comes a long lost friend to help a person in need 
ths is a great tool especially for us old guys who have memory relapses when we are typing away ,saves repeating ourselves over and over again and having to edit a post after posting due to stupidity and if we dnt pick it up straight away we get the dreaded orange pencil icon to remind us of our incompetence
