So sad about Christine. Songbird was one of my fav’s and an incredible song.

I’s like to pay tribute to Jet Black, who passed away Tuesday this week at the age of 84. He was the original drummer in English new wave band The Stranglers. I still remember getting their first album back in 1977. And in the mid 80’s I saw them live on the Aural Sculptures tour. Fond memories! Thank you for the music Jet, may you be remembered.
One of the best films and best soundtrack of all time.
I’ll also watch the whole “Dollar Triology” again.
At the 42nd anniversary of John Lennon’s death yesterday…
2nd best version of this song just behind the great and sadly missed Lenoard Cohen
Since we touched upon “death anniversiaris” of musicians’s yesterday (Lennon), 36 years ago today Kate Wolf passed away of leukemia, only 44 years old. I’d like to give her a mention here. She was an exceptionally gifted songwriter, who’s never gotten the recognition she deserves. If you like folk/country, Kate Wolf is well worth checking out. She is probably best known by Nanci Griffith’s cover of the beautiful song Across the Great Divide. Thank you for the music Kate, may you be remembered.
I think it’s nice when you remember these great musicians. We are coming to an age where far too many of them have already passed.
Keep watching after the apple drops.
What a very interesting interpretation, call me old fashioned but I’ll stick to the original from 1976 (My God…was it really that long ago?)

I’d like to pay tribute to Terry Hall, who passed away Sunday two days ago 63 years old. He was the singer in several English bands, among them Fun Boy Tree and The Colourfield. However he is of course best known for his time in The Specials, perhaps the leading band in the ska revival around 1980. Thank you for the music Terry, may you be remembered.
