What's the best song you have heard today?

I remember reading reviews of those gigs. Unfortunately that was as close as I got. Supertramp were in their prime then. They were huge for me in the latter half of the 1970’s, from Crime of the Century and the 2-3 next albums.

I really would have liked to see St. Paul & the Broken Bones too, but like you, I’ll most likely be on holiday then. Nothing too exciting, just visiting old friends up north. By the way, where you are going, you might check out if Bill Morrisey is still rememberd there.

To close this rant off, damn what a singer Paul Janeway of St. Paul & the Broken Bones is. Close your eyes, it’s almost like hearing Otis Redding.

Sade - Never As Good As The First Time - Official - 1986

Sade Adu was born in Nigeria, her voice is like velvet.

Her main successes like “Smooth operator” or “Sweetest taboo” were great,

my favourite of her is “Never as good as the first time”

Rod Stewart – Baby Jane [[ Official Live Video ]]

Had a chance to see him live on stage with Simple Minds and Gianna Nanini.

He has a pretty bandwidth of music to cover. Baby Jane is one of the more “pressing” titles like “Passion”, but he can do the smooth music as well like in “Sailing” or

together with lovely Amy Belle

Very special with Amy Belle on stage at the Albert Hall. She was an unknown Scottish singer spotted by a friend of Stewart’s when she was busking outside an underground station. She was only 23 years old.
I have seen Rod Stewart on stage 3 times in Oslo. The last time was in 2013 during something we had with many good artists annually from 1992-2016. It was called the Norwegian Wood Festival. Rod was 68 years old but did not escape the encore “Da Ya Think I’m Sexy?” Sorry, have to bring it!

Bob Dylan - Knockin’ On Heaven’s Door

Was pissed at a concert where Eric Clapton played this song before the main performance of Bob Dylan. In the end both played together on stage.

Hell, yes! The Bad Seeds have a new album coming out and I just ordered my concert ticket. Nick Cave is a monster on stage. This one kinda fits my mood right now. September can’t come here soon enough!

Crazy Horse - I Don’t Want To Talk About It

Rod Stewart’s fine version of this song are posted a few posts above, but I feel have to post the original version and give the song writer a mention here. It’s Danny Whitten (1943-1972), the original guitar player in Neil Young’s long time backing band Crazy Horse.

Danny Whitten is the second guitarist on epic Neil Young tracks like Down by the River and Cowgirl in the Sand. The song I Don’t Want To Talk About It first appeared on Crazy Horse’s debut “solo album” in 1971.

Sadly Danny Whitten is yet another of all the people the music world lost way to early because of d__gs. The title track on Neil Young’s Tonight’s the Night is about Danny, and about Bruce Berry, one of Neil Young’s roadies, who also fell victim to d__gs.

Crazy Horse - Downtown

Getting a little carried away again, so one more for Danny Whitten. He was a talent! This song, co-written by Danny and Neil Young, is also from Crazy Horse’s first LP.

My personal first contact to the music of David Bowie was a WDR Rockpalast broadcast in the summer of '96. He soon ascended to be my absolute #1 and holds that title still. Summer of '02, about 5 meters from the stage, I saw him perform that entire Low album you mentioned, as a 2nd encore, after already having played an entire set +5. Including the avant garde electronic instrumentals of the B-Side. Imagine that stuff when you’re already high on that euphorical exhaustion you feel after a great concert. I had appreciated that album before, but this otherworldly experience, for me, transformed it forever. Best concert experience of my life.

The video is kind of s__tty. 90s, remember?

One more thing, @Kade181727. I’m somewhat lazy when it comes to clicking like buttons and stuff, I have been on the internet since before these habits have been invented. But, having spent the last year without premium subscription, I want to say that your numerous sexy video postings are most highly appreciated. You’re doing the lord’s work.

This guy, Frankie Valli, is absolutely incredible. I knew The Four Seasons from before. When I looked him up now I see that he is not only alive, is 89 years old, but is also still performing. There is a whole concert on YouTube. 90 minutes from this autumn “Frankie Valli at the Westgate Las Vegas”. This makes an old Elvis fanatic like me think. He was born two years before Elvis and now stands on the same stage in what was then called The International Hotel. Some called it at the time “the house that Elvis built”. He had shows there from the opening of the hotel in 1969 until 1976.
Have to bring one of Elvis from the closest I could get to a live concert with him. The first satellite broadcasted concert to Europe. We had just received a color TV. I remember it like it was yesterday!

Stevie Wonder - As ( no, it’s not ass :joy: )

I have always loved the music of Stevie Wonder, the album “songs in the key of life” is a milestone in music for me.

Also unforgotten his participation in the James Corden tv-show Karaoke taxi. Laughed my ass off, and has lots of his nice songs in it.
