What's the best song you have heard today?

I`ve never heard this singer/songwriter or his history. "Quote from comments: Sad story: 3 days after Jim Croce died in a plane crash, his wife received a letter from him, saying he was quitting concert touring so he could retire and spend the next 30+ years with his wife and 1-year-old son. So the lyrics of the “Time In A Bottle” song are almost a preminition, like he knew he wouldn’t get to spend much time with his family, so he recorded a beautiful song for their memories.

yes and his son Adrian James , better known as A,J Croce went onto become a b___dy good singer/song writer in his own right, Jims wife used to co-write many of there early songs

You and not least @GladNGrumpy give me a lot of interesting artists to check out. I can’t help but explore new paths when it comes to music!

Hi there,

accidently stumb__d into this one here.

Read the remarks about Jim Croce, and the same moment another song than time in a bottle shot into my head.

Gets my eyes watering because of old memories. But the song is one of my all-time-favourites.

Jim Croce - I Got A Name Lyrics (Logan)

@Lazurus_aka_Virgil

may I make a suggestion to you? Recon so, so I just do it.

I thought in the other music-forum, that the added names and titles in the youtube picture would be enough to mention the title.
But they can not be found in research. So I add the title and singer in a line above or below, so someone new like me here can find via search “in this topic” if someone else has already mentioned a title. I think that helps to avoid double coverages.
But it’s just a suggestion, not my business to lecture anybody here.

bottom line: Got a nice moment via this forum part.

From his album Little Stevie Orbit from 1980. Old but still pleasant to me

The lyrics are a statement for data protection. The kids even nowadays are not aware how “visible” they are in the www.

I’m so happy to hear that. I’m always glad (not grumpy) when we can share music, and get inspiration to explere something new. Myself I got Jim Croce lately here. I have passed by him before, but looks like I have to check him out some more.

Oh yes, Skynyrd did an excellent this song too. I’d actually forgotten about that, even if I still got Second Helping (on CD these days). However, to mo me the best version of this song will always be J.J. Cale’s original, which gave me another opportunity to mention one of my biggest unsung heroes in music :guitar: :notes:

From the album 461 ocean boulevard

Eric Clapton M____rless C___dren

Unlike Lukas156546 I am a Clapton fan.

M____rless c___dren originates from Blind Willie Johnson in 1927, and there are numerous covers in raggae and other music colours on the market. I like the guitar Clapton plays

One of my favourite live - tracks comming from the album “Frampton comes alive”

Peter Frampton Do you feel like we do Full Version

The “talk-box”-part was a thing Frampton brought up and really “new” at the time (1973)
