Will la cantó esta mañana. Vale aclarar que cantaba “bésame mucha”, o sea, el femenino de “mucho”.
Su castellano es como mi ruso: bastante dudoso.
Chris Rea - The Road To Hell 1989 Full Version
Happy Birthday to Chris Rea who turns 73 today. Chris Rea is British rock and blues singer-songwriter and guitarist. In the US and in most of Europe, he became best known to the general public (and myself) for the 1978 hit song “Fool” (If You Think It’s Over). As the years went by I learned to appreciated his distinctive voice and his slide guitar playing. The Road To Hell (1989 Music album) is a masterpiece in my opinion.
I also have to include one of the most popular Christmas songs he has also written.
Chris Rea - Driving Home For Christmas
Townes van Zandt - Snowin’ On Raton
One of my top favourites of all time would have turned 80 today. Townes van Zandt is to me one of the greatest singer/songwriters ever! His songs have been covered by artists the like of Willie Nelson, Merle Haggard and Emmylou Harris, just to name some of the biggest. Steve Earle did a whole album of Townws songs, and even named his son Justin Townes.
Townes van Zandt was a storyteller, and his songs can be both funny or melancholic, sometimes at the same time. He wrote both beautiful love songs and some of the saddest and most depressing songs I’ve ever heard. So there is much to choose from to celebrate his memory. Snowin’ On Raton may be as good a choice as any.
Townes van Zandt’s life was a troub__d one, and it finally caught up with him on January 1.1997, when he passed away at the age of 52. It was on the same day that the legendary songwriter Hank Williams passed 44 years earlier. To me that’s were Townes belong, up there with the greatest songwriters there has been.
I did see Townes van Zandt live several times in the 1990’s. The first time in 1990 may be my best concert experience ever. With only his voice, guitar and songs (and jokes and stories), he kept the whole club silent. Then again, my last concert with him in the fall of 1996 may be my saddest concert ever. Townes did not look and sound well.
You may have noticed I tend to get a little carried away when it comes to my biggest favourites, so once, again, please forgive my long rant. To end it, if you are not familiar with Townes van Zandt, like this song and are still reading, check him out. You may be in for a treat.
I assume that you haven’t had someone specifically in your mind when posted this song
i did not mention you?
or did i by mistake?
Sorry, i simply couldn’t help. No harm intended
Nope, I don’t remember Meja. However I do actually remember the song. It’s is a nice pop tune, which charted at number 3 in Norway. It was fun to hear it again
John Cale - You Know More Than I Know
Happy Birthday to Welsh musician John Cale, who is turning 82 today. Co-founder of The Velvet Underground and a long solo career after that, with several very good albums. So here’s to John Cale, with the song You Know More Than I Know, a song that for some reason seems to fit well the whole VHTV experience.
She is only 20 years old and as we say “a star is born”. Very good and a joy to hear, thks!
