What's the best song you have heard today?

Wow, right back at you, never heard of him. Well, they both chose to sing in their own language, so no wonder they are not well known outside their own country

Ok, I can understand that. I was rooting for Holland too in 1974. Sorry about that, all my German friends

Isn’t it that we also like to watch good Football. No matter from what country. I wasn’t born in '74 but i know he was a great player. I’m Dutch but i also found Klinsmann a great player in the Van Basten, Gullit years.

Couldn’t agree more! I actually remember watching that final, and I was so sad that Holland lost. But it was a great game, with two great taems

Damn, perhaps we need a football topic here. And I was about to say we may as well get back to topic now. Then I see you’ve already taken care off it

The Doors - People Are Strange

Jim Morrison would have turned 80 today.
And people are still strange.

You beat me to it on this one friend! I got to see The Doors and especially Jimi Hendrix the next day (night). Forgot his birthday last Monday where he had turned 81. A little strange/sad to think that both joined the “27 years club” within a year. Jimi died 3 weeks after “The Ile”. It became his last big performance.

One for Jimi!

The Allman Brothers Band - It’s Not My Cross To Bear

Let us celebrate the memory of Gregg Allman, singer and keyboard player in The Allman Brothers Band. He would have turned 76 today if he hadn’t passed away in 2017 aged 69. In his memory, here is It’s Not My Cross To Bear, from the Allman’s debut album from 1969.

It’s a damn shame that this woman had to die…
I saw her live in 1994 when she was still healthy and I have all of Roxette’s albums.

Marie Fredriksson - Ännu doftar kärlek

Hey @Alek228242 and @Mohrchi, don’t know if you are aware of it, but Marie Fredriksson also had a solo career before and during her time in Roxette, where she sang in Swedish. Here’s an example, her first solo hit from 1984. Take a chance on it even though you don’t understand the words. It’s a lovely song. The title is a little difficult to translate, it means something like “The scent of love lingers on”.

Thank you @GladNGrumpy
I didn’t know anything about her solo career until now. But Marie has a beautiful voice.

I had almost forgotten about it. It was Per Gessle and “Gyllene Tider” for me at that time. As you say a lovely song (i understand the lyrics).

Harry Roy & His Orchestra - My Girl’s Pussy

English dance band leader and clarinetist Harry Roy, with his band, from 1931.

Good song with a guy singing about his girlfriend’s cat. Wait…is it about the cat
