Happy Birthday to English musician John Mayall, who is turning 90 today! This man has often been called The F____r of British Blues, and he may well be more important to the evolution of rock music as we know it today than he is credited for.
John Mayall’s band The Bluesbreakers was a stepping stone for many musicians who later became more famous than he ever did, among them Eric Clapton, Peter Green, John McVie and Mick Taylor.
Mayall himself released records and toured most of the time from the late 1950’s up to his last show in March 2022, when he was 88 years old. Although he never got to be a big star, this man has certainly paid his dues like few others!
