What's the best song you have heard today?

Since @Lukas156546 mentioned the great J. J. Cale earlier today. And since we are on the forum of an adult website, where a topic about music perhaps is a not the most relevant, here is one of the most sexy and sensual songs I’ve ever heard - Boiling Pot by J. J. Cale.

Damned, I made a bad mistake yesterday in my Happy Birthday-post to Jean-Jacques Burnel of The Stranglers. Hugh Cornwell, the original singer and guitarist of the band, is of course also still alive. Sorry about that. My bad, how could I? :man_facepalming:

I’d like to celebrate the memory of Mick Green, who would have turned 79 today. This English guitarist first gained attention with Johnny Kidd & The Pirates in the early 1960’s. Although more of a rhythm guitarist than a solo player, Mick Green is often considered a seminal and intfluential guitarist. The Pirates reformed in the latter part of the 1970’s (without Johnny Kidd, who passed away in 1966). Here is the song Gibson Martin Fender from 1977. It only takes three to rock solid.

Well. Hugh Cornwell is definitely still hanging around :joy:

So here’s The Stranglers again, with…Hanging Around.

Now that’s two great songs. True, The Stranglers got a little more commercial and “sophisticated” in the 1980’s. The two songs I’ve posted are both from 1977, when the band was a major part of the punk/new wave scene in England at the time. Their debut album Rattus Norvegicus is in my opinion one of the better debuts of all time.

Let’s celebrate the memory of Steve Priest, bass player in the English band The Sweet, who would have turned 75 today. As a tribute to his memory, here’s a classic form the glam rock era in the first part of the 1970’s. It’s Sweet, it’s Ballroom Blitz.

It’s February 25. now and time to celebrate the memory of one of the true greats. George Harrison would have turned 80 today. No further introduction necessary, so while we wait for summer again, here’s The Beatles with Here Comes the Sun.

Let us celebrate the memory of the great Irish guitarist Rory Gallagher, who would have turned 75 today. Not only one of the greatest guitar players ever, but a damn fine songwriter too, sometimes mixing his hard blues rock with Irish folk as well as country. Here’s the song Do Yo Read Me, from 1976.
