My favourite too, this is pure magic, But you sure you’re in the right topic now, buddy?
But I just saw that I ended up in the wrong thread here…
@jabbath1987, could you please move my post to the correct thread. Didn’t pay attention when posting…
Happy Birthday to T Bone Burnett, who is turning 75 today. He first gained attention in The Alpha Band in the 1970’s, and have had an on and off solo career since then. Today he is probably best known as a producer, for among others Elvis Costello, Robert Plant & Alison Krauss and the movie score for O Brother Where Art Thou? T Bone Burnett is to me an almost criminally underappreciated artist, I have several of his albums. He well worth checking out.
Hopefully @Queen will be back soon…
Happy Birthday to Mick Taylor, who is turning 74 today. This English guitarist first gained attention in John Mayall’s Bluesbreakers, but is of course for ever best known for his years in The Rolling Stones. Technically he’s probably the best guitar player the Stones ever had, his solo on Can You Hear Me Knocking from Sticky Fingers is one of my all time favourite guitar solos. For my birtday tribute to Mick, here’s a version of that song from when he guested the Stones on the Glastonbury festival in 2013.
It’s incredible that the Stones are still performing today. And I like her even more now than I used to. Mick Jagger and Keith Richard are turning 80 this year.
They should try to get Mick Taylor back in the band. At 74, he would be the youngest band member alongside Ron Wood (75). After Charlie Watts unfortunately died, the band needs “offspring”.
In June this year it’s 60 years since they released their debut single. The line “I hope I die before I get old” from another band from that era has kind of lost its meaning. The times they are a-changing
One of my favourite bands…with a rather unusual song for them
sung by Rick Parfitt who passed away on te 24th of december in 2016
This is a pencildrawing of him that a friend made for me
Not quite a song but came across this track of 3 drummers battling it out. I was impressed not only with the drumming but also the enjoyment they were getting from it. Particularly the girl on the right. Lovely to watch

Let us celebrate the memory of the American singer Janis Joplin, who would have turned 80 today. She was a f___e of nature, generally regarded as one of the greatest singers in the history of rock. In memory of Janis, here she is, with Big Brother & The Holding Company, in their legendary performance of Ball and Chain at the Montery festival in 1967.
I’d like to pay tribute to American bass player Van Conner, who passed away Tuesday this week 55 years old. He is best known as the bassist in Screaming Trees, a band who had a couple of minor hits in the first part of the 1990’s, one of them you’ll find below. Van Conner is yet another one of those who rarely get a mention. He’s got one now. Thank you for the music Van, may you be remembered.
News just in, American singer and songwriter David Crosby passed away today at the age of 81. He is best known from The Byrds and of course from Crosby, Stills, Nash & Young, but he also had a solo career and did numerous collaborations. To David Crosby’s memory, here is one of his finest songs.
And still nobody knows what he means with “that” ?
He took that secret with him to his grave…
He does It’s revealed towards the end of the song what “that” is
Hmmm not really sure. You can understand it that way. That is right.
That’s how I see it, The girl asks him questions and he says what he will and won’t do
