Sandy Denny, my all time favourite female singer, would have turned 76 today. Sadly she passed away in 1978, only 31 years old. She left a rich musical heritage, on her own and in bands, most notably with Fairport Convention. Here is her best known song.

Syd Barrett would have turned 77 today. He was a co-founder of Pink Floyd, and a brilliant songwriter, who, due to mental illness, sadly got lost for his band mates (and friends) and for the music world. He passed away in 2006. Here is Pink Flyd’s debut, written by Syd.

One of my favorite Uriah Heep songs. That brings back memories. We used to sit around a campfire as students in the summer, one of us had a guitar and we all sang this song…and our hair was almost as long as the boys in the band… 
same for me… long time ago hahaha
