Black Sabbath - Sabbath Bloody Sabbath

It was 1974 or 75, when I borrowed a cassette from a friend. When I put it on, this came out. I still listen and I probably will for the rest of my life :face_holding_back_tears:

I was just watching an emotional tribute to Ozzy on YouTube. The guy told that his first ever concert was in 1981 when he was 15. It was Ozzy on the Blizzard of Oz tour, with Randy Rhoads on guitar. Support band was Motörhead! What a concert bill, we should have been there! Well, their music is still with us, and like I said, we’ll keep listening, for a long time to come :face_holding_back_tears:

Damn, I got a little emotional tonight :face_holding_back_tears:
Still, let’s not forget, this was a man who loved to have a laugh and a good time.

I’d like to pay tribute to the Dutch guitarist George Kooymans, who has passed away today at the age of 77. He was one of the founders of the band Golden Earring. The band was huge in the Netherlands back in the day, but they also had quite a bit of international success in the 1970’s and 80’s.

Golden Earring’s best known song is Radar Love, co-written by George Kooymans. It reached top 10 in the charts in several countries, the highest being number 1 in their homeland. It also happens to be one of the first rock songs yours truly can remember. Thank you for the music George, may you be remembered :wine_glass:

Ozzy Osbourne, with Elton John - Ordinary Man (2020)

I would like to share one more with Ozzy. This is a video with him reflecting on his life, beutiful and sad at the same time. It is heartbreaking to see Ozzy’s reaction when the pics of him and Randy Rhoads shows up.

“Yes, the truth is I don’t wanna die an ordinary man”
Mission acclomplished, Ozzy

Happy Birthday to Andy Mackay, who is turning 79 today. Best known for playng saxophone and oboe in Roxy Music, one of my all-time favourite bands. He’s also done a few low-key solo albums, and has appeared on albums by among others Paul McCartney, Brian Eno, John Cale, Duran Duran and Mott the Hoople.

From the third Roxy album Stranded, Bryan Ferry let the other Roxy members contribute to songwriting. After that Andy Mackay co-wrote several songs, among them one of Roxy Music’s best known songs Love Is the Drug. Happy Birthday :wine_glass:

Andy Mackay also co-wrote one of my favourite songs by Roxy, which I’ve posted before.

RIP to the legendary HULK HOGAN

I liked him better before he campaigned for :tangerine:

There’s been a documentary about wrestling legends for a few years now. Many of the stars from ‘my’ time in the 90s have been profiled there, and now also many from the later era that I don’t even know. …but strangely, no episode was dedicated to Hulk Hogan. He was just often in the interviews with other stars…

The HU - Yuve Yuve Yu

Awsome band from Mongolia I’ve been listening to lately. The music is a mix of traditional Mongolian music, including throat singing, and classic rock and metal.

The Proclaimers - I’m Gonna Be (500 Miles)

500 miles from Edinburgh, and 500 more, in case anyone has ever wondered…

I see a lot of water there… are these descendants of a carpenter’s son from Nazareth?

Oh no, just two stubborn and persistent Scots, who who would have to catch a ferry or boat if they were to go 500 miles and 500 more. Though I assume they would be relentlessly walking around on the decks whle doing so :joy:
