The song Sicilia is in Norwegian, and is about the island Sicilia (Sicily), so I may be cheating a little here, but who cares :face_with_tongue:

Anyways, I really liked Sicilia, and I still remember her time here in VHTV

The Lounge Lizards - Bob the Bob (1988)

Bob, guest guy with the Henry gang, and from what I’ve seen, an all around good guy.

If anyone remembers the the movie Down by Law from 1986, one of the main roles in it were John Lurie, who also was a musician and played the saxophone in The Lounge Lizards. The other main roles in the movie were played by Tom Waits (another musician) and the fantastic Italian actor Roberto Begnigni.

Kevin Ayers - Lady Rachel (1969)

One of my favorite songs, by ABBA. And Agnetha and Frieda singing together is wonderful
:hugs:

I realize that I don’t listen to the old hit songs nearly often enough.

Well, the last time I heard this song was not with them singing. I visited my son in Bergen a couple of months ago. We were at a karaoke pub, and two young girls entered the stage and proceeded to belt out this song at the top of their lungs. They were both pretty dru-nk. It was fantastic

Are you aware of this topic? It is mostly more rock oriented than ABBA, but if you check it out you might find some old ones you like. There’s a lot of fine songs there.

That’s great, my dear friend. :hugs:
These are all songs from my time.
Just interpreted differently. Very exciting—thank you for that.
But for me, ABBA remains the world’s greatest band, with all their hits.
And I think it’s good that they didn’t make a comeback, like others do. That way, their music remains a work of art for all time.
One that younger people also always enjoy listening to.

I don`t think I reckon Abba as the greatest music group. I have problems reckogning any music group anyway as greatest. That is because I like many different kinds of music. If I find the music fine then I listen to it. From all over the place. But I listen to Abba whenever I feel like it. That is one thing for sure.

A long time ago since I have seen two d runk girls performing from a stage in the first place. :face_blowing_a_kiss:

Shortly before the two ABBA girls, two girls were up singing My Way, wailing away like banshees. They were dru-nk too. Absolutely fabulous

If you are ever in Bergen, Skipperstuen on a Saturday is recommended!

Maybe the term “world-class” was a bit of an overstatement.
I just wanted to express my admiration for ABBA’s music.
There are some really great musicians whose music I still enjoy today. And I agree with you. Music always depends on the mood of each individual.

How does the saying go?
Everything has its time.
And it’s the same with music. Every kind of music has its time. But sometimes there’s music I wouldn’t have listened to when I was younger. And now I love those songs.
