If as you say the apartment is In st petersburg the participants have no excuse for not knowing what is really happening. St P was one of the first anti-war cities demostratiing against war some months back.

Yes it is because when TaTa was there one of her guests was traveling on to Saudi Arabia and spoke in English to whoever was on the other end of the phone. At one point she said, Oh did you know we have snow here in St. Petersburg? This picture is from that actual conversation.
