For a while now we’re experiencing this bug that in timeline playback about every 2.5 minutes it skips ahead another 2.5 minutes. Somebody said, and it seems to make sense, that it’s probably related to how the video buffer is being filled by the stream, and when it’s full it’s being emptied and filled again, with the video jumping ahead in the process.
It’s really annoying, rendering the timeline almost useless for entertainment purposes, and I think that fixing this should be a high priority item. Please tell me you’re at least working on this. @kaya ? @Alex666 ?
But the spikes are all 5 minutes apart, which would equal one buffer filling. May someoby’s actually trying to fix this bug and we’re seeing some work-in-progress result?
Camera 1: with the stream time 10:55
Camera 2: with the stream time 10:57
Camera 4: with the stream time 11:00
Now Rosy runs from the living room to the kitchen and arrives there up to 5 minutes later (you have to wait until it is 11 o’clock there too).
If you now watch Rosy, let’s say from the kitchen, as she runs to the front door, she starts running at camera 1. In camera 2 you can see that the door is open and in camera 4 you would see that Rosy is no longer there and the door is already closed again.
The following then happens at, say, 2 pm:
Camera 1: with the stream time 13:55
Camera 2: with the stream time 13:57
Camera 4: with the stream time 14:00
2:01 pm:
Camera 1: with the stream time 14:01
Camera 2: with the stream time 14:01
Camera 4: with the stream time 14:01
All cameras are now the same again and there has been a jump.
Since I am no longer a Prem user, I cannot say whether the time jumps are also associated with data loss.
Thank you for clarifying! Could you share a practical example from a real timeline to show how this happens as I assume this one was theoretical, when you see it? (it’s accessible)
I will try and post a video later as i see what the member is talking about. For example someone could shout hello and jump up and down on camera 1 and you switch to Camera 2 and it will happen a minute later on that camera or that camera could be another minute or two in the future and she does it again and it hasn’t happened on Camera 1. The cameras aren’t synchronised the original topic for this got closed so we can’t discuss it there.
Yes basically the cameras run out of sync to each other and when it reaches a certain point the sync themselves again resulting in a jump. I will try to make a video
