Marcel & Flora

It is not really a mistake. Both have the same meaning.

The problem was with the Microsoft translation made by the “Globe” button from the forum, which was totally wrong

Freut mich, ich wollte nicht falsch verstanden werden,

wünsche ihnen noch schöne Weihnachten

Thank you and Merry Christmas to you as well :hugs:

I think the accuracy of any translation program depends on if the programmer can take regional differences into account, In this case you might say the exact same thing in Moscow, and in Yekaterinburg and people hear it as totally different things!

As I know you, and as I have already commented, you are a woman of very strong character. And like most things in this world, there are two sides to this. Painful… and teachable. The second one is the most important because the pain will soon disappear but the lesson will remain forever. Now you will know who your true friends are.

The result of all this? You’ve only gotten stronger. Now hold on to those who have been with you all year, not just this day.

I recommend an interesting experiment for everyone else. Remove your birthday from your Facebook profiles. Many people will be surprised. And many will probably be disappointed.

But they shouldn’t be. No need to be disappointed for those who don’t deserve it. They are not worth you or your time.

Who still uses facebook!?! Also due to where she lives she most likely uses VK.

The experiment was not for her.

She has already done her part.

You will be surprised:

3.03 billion

Most Used Social Media Platforms WorldwideAs of 2023, Facebook is the largest social media platform globally with 3.03 billion monthly active users worldwide. YouTube follows with 2.49 billion, with WhatsApp, Instagram, Facebook Messenger and WeChat, all having over a billion users.

Most of those friends of yours who laugh at your use of Facebook…are just lying. Statistics don’t lie.

I’m not surprised that it’s still the largest, but it’s slowly dying. It’s now loosing more user than it is gaining. Facebook is for boomers. The youth/young adults have already moved on…

As I said, statistics don’t lie, but feelings often do.

Facebook Age & Gender Demographics:

Women are the most frequent users of Facebook, with 77% of women versus 61% of men using the platform on desktop or mobile devices.

Millennials are on average the most popular age group of Facebook users:

  • 70% of people aged 18-29
  • 77% of people aged 30-49
  • 73% of people aged 50-64
  • 50% of people aged 65+

All about Facebook ststistics:

But you are right about the decline. There are several reasons. Also described in the link above. But its widespread nature is still fascinating. Even among my friends, even those who assure me they don’t use it

Justify however you want, but you are incorrect in your assumption statistic do not lie. Often statistics do lie. They are easily manipulated and often very biased. You are a smart man you should already know that. Facebook is the next MySpace. Once the King, but eventually forgotten.

The digital age moves fast. It makes the older generations uncomfortable by how fast things change. Your strong belief in Facebook’s relevancy, shows your age. It’s ok my friend. If you still enjoy the website there is nothing wrong with that. :hugs:

My dear friend, I am talking about the present, you are talking about the future. As far as the present is concerned, Facebook is still king for the time being. You asked who uses it anymore? You have been told that there are still a lot of people. Simple as that.

As far as my use of Facebook is concerned, it is strictly divided into two segments, buys and business. I do the occasional buying and selling on it for my hobby.

I use it for work, as profiling for the purpose of the prosecutor’s process, when it is absolutely necessary. So it is used as a tool, not as a d__g.

You hate it, I use it, I don’t love it.

But I admit that I use YouTube a lot, as a learning tool. Best tool ever. For me. When the kettle breaks in the toilet…Youtube. When a strange caterpillar is found in my garden…Youtube. I can’t deny my guilt here.

But if we look at the other actions on Facebook, the spreading of theories, the political activism, the glorification of historical disasters, the mums who post up every plate that ends up on the table, and countless more, it sadly reflects the state of the society we live in. And it does not bode well for us.

When you find out that over three billion people visit a platform and you can search for a useful thing on it with a flashlight and it is a question of whether you will find it, then there is no need to waste words. Because we are both on the same shore.

The sad thing is that the vast majority of alternative platforms are exactly the same testing ground. After all, even the forum here draws the worst out of some.

But it’s not all bad. There is something useful everywhere, including friends, sometimes partners. You just have to know how to find and weed out the weeds.

I have found many friends up here. I have learned a lot, and in many ways I have changed my outlook. That is why I consider my experience here a positive one. Many people in my surroundings would be shocked, probably even disgusted.

My years have nothing to do with it. I am present on so many platforms it would be hard to count. Even as an administrator on some of them. I have to say here, unfortunately, I spend far too much time online, for work, as a hobbyist or whatever. As a point of interest, even VHTV’s involvement is half hobby and half work. I am much more active in face-to-face contact with residents than on the forum, or on the cameras. Although this was not the aim at the beginning

And as I see, I am trashing the topic again. As usual

A rhetorical question. A man of your intelligence cannot possibly be that dense. Therefore you are just toying with me, tying to stir the pot. Our conversation ends here. There is no point in going further. :kissing_heart:

You think so?

To me, it looks like a perfectly normal answer to the question/claim

The last thing I wanted was to offend anyone.

I’m sorry did I stutter? Like I have said multiple times now. My comment was a rhetorical question. A rhetorical question needs no reply. Please stop trying to play naive and innocent. You are better and smarter than that.

Sorry for the interruption, but I just wanted to quickly post something on the topic…
