I think now the forum is slow to load also.
I noticed it today too. The forum hooks sometimes.
Vhtv site and forum are not working properly… @VHTV_James
It’s terrible at the moment @VHTV_James and the player is hardly useable as you click a room and it takes 20-30secs to change. The same is for changing a channel and any other button on the player.
There is an anomaly though that once you have done this a few times it starts to work okay as long as remain clicking. After you leave it for a few mins though the problem returns.
I mentioned this a few weeks ago but at that time hardly anyone was having these issues it seems now it’s getting worse.
I did just notice that the player was down so they might be listening and did a reset.
That might be the case as it seems better now.
I’m having the same problem.
Many of the forum piccys seem to struggle loading sometimes or even opening up to view.
Don’t suppose many of the high ups will bother too much now it seems they are more concerned with the new baby the Telegraph. Seems as though even Jabs has deserted the forum for the Telegraph often now.
You get enough crap on here now without getting a load more from another app
Interestingly, I have found that if I switch VPN connections, I can get it working for a while. When it craps out, I switch to another VPN connection and it works for a while.
Have found that the Swiss and German servers work the best.
But still, it is getting bad enough to question whether I should renew VHTV.
@VHTV_James. If it’s not fixed in the next few weeks I won’t be renewing my subscription
It would also be time to give a few extra days for the difficulties.
To all that are suffering the lagging issue, I have fire a round over the VHTV bow. Sorry for the length of this post as I have included the text from the ticket I have just opened with @VHTV_James.
The more of you that open a ticket and demand that the issue is rectified the better. When lots of people threaten not to renew perhaps they will sit up and listen as we, the paying members, fund their livelihoods.
When I first started using VHTV, even as a free user I was virtually problem free, and was for months, only things like rooms going offline or cameras not showing were an issue.
However over the past few weeks I have been experiencing a very severe problem. When I first login to VHTV everything is fine and I can go from room to room with no problems. After around 5 minutes of browsing the timelines, no matter which room the time it takes to show footage or refresh the timeline in another realm/room degrades to the point that it is impossible to load a timeline point or change realms/rooms. I have to refresh the page or sometimes close the browser clear the cache and start again and even then it doesn’t always work. I have to restart Windows.
I have even refreshed my windows 10 and also did a fresh install of windows 10 64bit on a spare drive and still have the same issue. My speed tests all come back at 220.93Mbps so it’s not my broadband Speedtest by Ookla - The Global Broadband Speed Test
I have tried many browsers including Chrome, Brave, Firefox, Edge, MyIE9 Browser and Opera all have the same issue and when I look at Windows task manager they all start using a lot of memory around the same time, and that is around 5 minutes after opening VHTV, I have 16GB of DDR4. I do not experience this issue on any other live streaming site only VHTV. It appears I am not alone with this issue as you can see at this link to the forums Lags and latest site problems - #94 by JulianInCT170821
I think it is now high time that VHTV admit they have a memory hole problem with whatever compression or encoding software VHTV is using and endeavor to rectify the issue ASAP. If this issue is not repaired before my membership ends I will definitely will not be renewing, I would also like some of my subscription days back as a gesture of goodwill for the amount of time I have spent trying to troubleshoot a problem that clearly is at your end. This issue has cost me a lot of time and frustration and nearly all of my files when reinstalling Windows 10.
I look forward to your prompt reply in this matter and the rectifying of the issue, perhaps VHTV would like to also comment on the forums and acknowledge that there is an issue and that you are doing something to put things back to how VHTV once was. I suggest getting rid of the Beta version you have been trying to impose on us for months now, as it has caused no end of problems
It’s strange, there are almost no problems here
but …
I use different browsers, and in the chrome-based Brave, VH currently hardly works at all. I’m logged out and I can see the preview and the free cams without any problems. If I log in, everything works… for about 5 minutes. From then on it’s only black with a rotating wait symbol. the mentioned approx. 14 days are also possible for this problem
too bad, Brave is actually my browser for screen recording. because only VH is running in it, the switching times were significantly lower than in my tab-overloaded firefox
Did not have any of the problem. Just the usual lags already reported here.
A few minutes ago i load the site it came up as this site cannot be reached. A few minutes later it loads again something is clearly wrong somewhere.
Raise a ticket, like I said the more people who do it the more likely they will do something about it.
What has support replied to you with.
As of yet nothing, however I only raised the ticket 5hrs ago and it is Sunday.
All these lags and stuttering is just getting b___dy worse i think.
Think it’s about time VH sorted themselves out or find a company that can deliver smooth streaming.
It’s all very well starting up a new Twitter b___dy alternative if their main site is b___dy crap.
Ticket sent in.
