I understand that you are only calling on what you have seen personally and I apologise if you felt I came at you strong, it’s just there have been situations that others have witnessed that had been concerning and reported to support - the night I described above led to Sergio and Theresa having an altercation in the Loggia which led to the realm being pulled offline for an extended period - so this is not something that even support were not aware of - the d__g and a_____l a___e are a fact and my concern is to have viewers claim there were no d__gs being used in the realm gives VHTV the opportunity to disregard concerns and any of these small changes which could potentially save a participants life may just be cast aside.
This is of course all true, I’m in my early 40’s and have had two heart attacks (Third time lucky…) but this is because I’m a big lad and have other health issues that make me more susceptible. Heart failure for someone who is otherwise healthy in their 20’s and 30’s is less common without some kind of outside f___e putting intense pressure on the heart.
This is all speculation though and without facts (which we honestly have no entitlement to) we can never be sure, so lets not dwell on that and just try and make the participants as safe as we can instead.
One thing I noticed and I think this is something the forum users (I do not exclude me here) should change:
Stop the “witch hunts” against certain participants and also guests. What people write especially against Henry and also Mikl and Troy is not okay. Saying when they did something not right is of course okay but there are users in here blaming them for everything they do not like in these places.
This is just an example. There might be many more. As a result for myself I will stop making fun of Tata and Candy Red which I did in the past maybe too often.
Do not get me wrong joking about them is okay but the constant hitting on them should stop. Let’s bring a bit more humanity in here.
Tejo too, he gets so much hate, and the guy has never done anything wrong. He chats with us quite frequently now on the forum and is friendly to all the users. Even the users that have said some pretty terrible things about him.
Panic button for each place to alert support faster and on higher level than a support ticket does.
Direct communication from support to participants without managers. (Emergency phone in each place reachable 24/7 for support on duty)
Participants already have direct lines of communication with support (besides tickets), they often just forget to use them.
Tickets about d__g a___e or other mental or physical problems should be take more serious
Better monitoring of things (Visible signs of d__g a___e should be taken more serious not only taking d__gs on cams also the effects)
We take reports of d__g use very seriously. As for mental or physical problems, we cannot diagnose such problems remotely, by video. And neither can you. The same applies to signs of d__g i__________n. This is purely technically impossible. In all other cases, the presumption of innocence applies.
Being aware of “toxic realms” and relationships. Offering help from psychologists to participants.
We always offer our members help with any problems that arise. But we cannot f___e someone to see a psychologist.
Random d__g tests
I can hardly imagine how you see it. Who is going to run and monitor these tests? It looks unbelievable.
Mandatory CPR and first aid training for all participants and long term guests
This also appears to be unfeasible. You need to have at least a minimum of medical knowledge to decide on CPR. Otherwise, you can cause damage where help wasn’t needed. We can’t have a CPR doctor assigned to every realm.
Mandatory placement of first aid kit in each realm
This is a good idea, but we will not be able to control the availability of such a first aid kit. So it can only be a recommendation.
Having some substance against d__g overdose ready in each realm (for example Narcan)
Again, I have no idea how medically educated one has to be to make a decision about taking such a d__g. But I will consult.
Each place should have smoke detectors and a fire extinguisher.
I just hope nobody video-captured the tragedy and posted it online. Not the sort of heat the site needs.
Not sure about cameras covering every square inch. If people want to, they will find a way. D__g testing for suspect apartments seems better.
That is interesting as many times support told me they are only able to communicate with them via managers. Also you did not say about the idea with the panic button.
At least here in Germany basic CPR is part of any first aid training. So I don’t understand why it’s not possible to make a mandatory first aid training for all participants and long term guests?
Managers should make sure about it and have to provide evidence to you it is there. I don’t see the problem to control that…?
Why? There are smoke detectors which can be mounted without drilling holes at all and a fire extinguisher I think can be bought in any country. And they are really not expensive yet can save lives…
Yes, but participants can write directly to the helpdesk
Perhaps I’m not quite grasping the idea of a panic button - should it be where? And how does it work?
Well, in Russia, for example, there are no first aid courses available, you have to try pretty hard to pass them. This problem will have different complexity in different cities. And, yes, in indirect cardiac massage you can break ribs, for example. If a person without medical training does it, nothing good will come out of it.
Of course this is a problem. Managers may live in another city or even another country.
Even if we abstract away from the sanctions which have closed off the supply of any electronics to Russia, the installation of fire alarms in the RF is a licensed activity. This is aimed mainly at corrupt opportunities, but the result of this is that I do not know of a single dwelling in the RF that has been equipped with a fire alarm.
Don’t get me wrong - I’m all for making all people in general, and our participants in particular, as safe as possible, and I’m making efforts to do so. Also, we should not forget that a person is mortal, and suddenly mortal. It’s impossible to know what you’re going to die of. If you focus all your life on not dying, you will fail 100% of the time.
And we all know why, because it would cost money. A life is priceless, so a little expenditure initially that could save a life should be compulsory not debateable. @VHTV_CEO need not to be thinking about expenditure and think seriously about suggestions made here. Investigate all methods of preventing this occurring in the future.
Well about that button we don’t know yet. It was meant that viewers can press it on the site for each realm. We were however not sure how to prevent abusive use and how to implement that. We hope that you might help us figuring something out?
And don’t you think the way of direct communication should work the other way too so that support can directly contact participants to not lose time when only contacting them via managers?
Well maybe it’s a possibility to take an online course? About breaking ribs during CPR. In my work it’s mandatory to do first aid training once a year and everytime they tell you a broken rib is always preferred over a stopped heart. So you do more wrong not doing CPR as when doing it and risk bruises or a broken rib…
I don’t see a problem here. Participants can provide a photo of it and of the location where it is…
Oh really? Here in Germany you can buy Smoke detectors to glue on everywhere and you don’t need a license for it at all… Seems to be very complicated in Russia…
I told you commenters that nothing will change. All I got was thumbs down and facepalming reaction to my comment. Based on VHTV_CEO responses above all you thumbs down and facepalming members should apologize because I was right but I won’t expect not-a-one. Carry on.
@VHTV_James@VHTV_CEO I am only alive to be a member of this site due to the actions of two community members, a former teacher and an off-duty policeman, who administered CPR when I suffered a cardiac arrest almost exactly three years ago. They were not medically-trained, but had been trained in CPR which is widely promoted in our community and mandated in some workplaces. They kept me alive until the paramedics arrived and even then it took two shocks to restart my heart. It hurt to breathe and laugh for a few weeks afterwards, but what was the alternative? Simple training may save a life.
Wondering about that too. They are basically fire and forget. 10 year lasting lithium battey. Just glue them on and forget about them. However they will save your life when you need them…
