Wonder if any of the other runners will do the same. I’m thinking of Mercedes, Red Bull & Racing Bulls.

Because I can’t see the other teams doing it, as they’ve had teething problems, which is to be expected as it’s the 1st real test outside of the wind tunnel.

Impressive!

Haas Team Principal Ayao Komatsu believes he has struck gold with the 2026 Ferrari engine.

After putting in the second most laps of any team during the Barcelona Shakedown, Komatsu was impressed by the reliability and power displayed by the new power-unit.

Over the five days in Barcelona, Haas drivers Esteban Ocon and Oliver Bearman put in an impressive 457 laps, with Komatsu having this to say on their new engine: “Ferrari have done an absolutely amazing job to get the performance up there and to have the reliability they’ve delivered.”

Komatsu was pleased with the longevity that the new engine was able to give the VF-26 during its initial testing stage, with Ocon behind the wheel reportedly completing the most laps on day one of any team.

Looks promising especially as it won’t be to the same specs as the engine that powers the Ferrari.

Looks like Red Bull might be within a chance this year, Just read two different stories, but the Ford designed powertrain, has caught the eye of Zac Brown and Toto Wolff.

Does someone know who will take over Helmut Markos position at Red Bull? Or who has taken over after him? :smiling_face_with_three_hearts:

Red Bull does not want to replace Markos position under their current structure. In the wait of what can happen that is how it is. :hugs:

As you say, they may not replace him just yet.

Because this weekend is the big showdown, as the 2nd official testing take place in Bahrain, and we’ll also see what the Williams is capable of, as well as not being behind closed doors.

One thing’s for certain though. Norris did say qualifying will be different from this year.

Due to the new power regs, the cars WON’T be allowed to run flat out, they’ll be a lot of lifting and coasting as he called it.

to answer that, first we have to see what Marko did (was) at Red Bull

He was financial director, that part will be filled in by Alistair Rew

”The 62-year-old is a British finance expert, as well as a seasoned accountant who has spent much of his career in motorsport and automotive finance. He previously held positions as Account Director at Monarch Cars (Tamworth) Limited between April 2002 and September 2003, and a similar role at Mercedes-Benz Solihull Limited during the same period.

But Marko was more known for being advisor of the team, the man who took decisions about drivers, as far as i know he will continue doing that on the background, but under the supervision of Oliver Mintzlaff, Red Bull’s CEO

also talks about GP Lambiase and Laurent Mekies are taking part in those talks

there was even a rumour that Seb Vettel would come to RB to fill in that role, but that is not the case(yet).

A finance expert is what the norwegians call finans rådgiver. Advisor of a team the norwegians call en rådgiver rolle for et lag. Decisions about drivers the norwegians call avgjørelser angående sjåfører eller førere. :hugs:

A finance expert can also be called en finans analytiker. In norwegian. But that is a socalled finer expression. In norwegian.
