I wasn’t able to watch the race live.
What happened at McLaren that caused both cars to be disqualified?
But as I see it in the overall driver standings, Max is now only 24 points behind.
So the last two races are going to be really exciting.
Or is that intentional…?!

Mclaren are seemingly doing everything to not have to pay driver bonuses out for championship wins

McLaren CEO Zak Brown has made the startling claim that he would rather lose the world championship to Max Verstappen than prioritise either Oscar Piastri or Lando Norris for the title. With McLaren wrapping up the Constructors Championship at October’s Singapore Grand Prix, attention quickly turned to the fight for the Drivers title between Norris and Piastri.
I would shake his hand and say job well done," said Brown when asked whether he would regret how they went racing if Verstappen won the title on Beyond the Grid. "I want to make sure if we don’t win that he beats us, we don’t beat ourselves, that’s important.
"And we’re well aware of 2007, two drivers tied on points, one gets in front. But we’ve got two drivers who want to win the world championship. We’re playing offence. We’re not playing defence. And I’d rather go with 'we did the best we can and our drivers tied in points and the other guy beat us by one, then the alternative, which is telling one of our drivers right now when they’re one point away from each other, ‘i know you have a dream to win the world championship but we’ve flipped the coin and you don’t get to do it this year’.
“Forget it, that’s not how we go racing. The best way to win the Constructors ’ championship is to finish first and second in the championship, and the best way to win the Drivers’ championship is to have two drivers going for the Drivers’ championship. In the event, 2007 happens again, I’d rather have that outcome than all the other outcomes by playing favourites. We won’t do it. We’re racers, we’re going racing.”

The final race in Abu Dhabi could be a very exciting and thrilling finale.
But it could also be decided next week if Lando scores 2 points more than Max and Oscar over the entire weekend in Qatar.
I’m hoping for the first option.

Why did Lando get a disqualification? 
I did not see the whole race.
Post-race, the rearmost skid wear on both McLaren MCL39 machines was found to be below the minimum 9mm thickness by technical delegates on inspection.
