From Perez’s cockpit camera, you can see that both are riding wheel to wheel in a straight line. And that Sainz leaves his line a few millimetres to the left and the wheels touch a fraction.
Nevertheless, I don’t want to blame either of them.
But the two drivers are so experienced that it would be better for the team to secure points than to jeopardise everything with such an action.
However, this is racing and great for us motorsport fans :+1: :ok_hand:

It was clearly Perez touching him. Perez was driving slightly to the right while Sainz was following the best route. Look from above and from behind. A very weird accident

To me it looks that Sainz goes to the left. Look at the distance of his car from the white line to the right:

they both have to go to the stewards, so they will tell us what happend and if there is someone to blame

Normally, he was in front and that’s the best route, Perez instead, although he was behind went to the right, you can see it better from the behind cameras. Again, a very weird accident

I missed this, but that might also cost some money

Sainz was going back on the normal track after the curbe, totally normal. He was in front. Perez has few cars space between him and the left wall, he didn’t let Sainz back on the best route and drove slightly into the right although the was behind. It is very clear…

You can see very well in that perspective that Checo all the time has the white line basically in the middle of his car. At the very end even goes a bit to the left. I do not see a movement to the right.

He does not have to do it. When there is no space Sainz has to stay where he is.

I still did not see this movement at all in all perspectives. He steered a bit to the left when he saw Sainz coming from right.

But that’s normal for Sainz (as being in front) to go back on the track, the white line from the right is the track limit…common Jabs this is childish, Perez has meters off clear track into his left side but he pushed into Sainz, lol

What ? There are 10 meters between Perez and the left wall…lol. You are soo funny

You do forget that Saiz was in front of Perez ?

He already was back within track limits.

He did not. He kept his steering straight. If there is no space Sainz has to break and keep behind.

Lol Jabs, Sainz was IN FRONT, why would he need to break ?

And that still does not give him the right steering to the left when there is a car.

He didn’t steer at all. look again at the replays from his cockpit…

It is very simple. When I drive straight on the road and a car from the right drives to the left into me even when it is slightly in front I am not in fault at all.

Well we will see what the official conclusion will be…

It was clearly not the very smartest type of driving in that situation. I will leave it at that. :slightly_smiling_face:

Adrian Newey will be at Aston Martin from 2025. I can only see that now. :slightly_smiling_face:
Then Alonso will be world champion after all!!! With Aston Martin

He would no doubt set a record for most time between world championships in F1 history.
