I think it will later be called ‘racing accident’

What surprises me further is that Max has no chance at all. to get anywhere near the podium. Amazing. I didn’t think the season would be so exciting. In the drivers‘ championship as well as in the constructors’ championship.

It is quite clear that Red Bull car is the only one from the top which is on a continuous decline…

I rather wait for the decision fo the FIA stewards. I am quite sure it will be deemed racing incident.

Also needs to be said that Williams done a very good move replacing Sergeant with Colapinto.

Also Bearman in points for his first two races in F1 with 2 different teams. All time record, nobody else done it in history

They should replace Magnussen with Bearman.

I would think that the other teams have made very good developments and updates after the summer break.
And Redbull may have rested too much because of their previous dominance. And thought they didn’t need to update the car too much this season.
Now they are running behind the music

I am quite pleased for Alonso though. Been a while ago since he finished as high as sixth. :kissing_heart:

This is the moment before the contact. Both cars look straight. This is a very weird accident :face_with_raised_eyebrow:

Look how far Sainz drifts from the wall, Perez is in line with Charles further down the road, plenty of space for Carlos as well

The only positive thing for them is that with Leclerc, Norris and Piastri there are now three drivers “stealing” each others the points so it will take a long time until one of them will catch Verstappen. If it will happen at all.

From that video it looks that Sainz loses control and the car steers rapidly to the left. Could maybe also be some defect? Maybe something on the rear broke?

No, he didn’t steer at all, that was when Perez’s front wheel touched his back wheel and obviously spin him over. That’s when the contact happened and he started to spin

As it goes now, and if, and that is an if, that pattern will continue, nobody will catch him. :hugs:

With todays result McLaren can no longer declare a No.1 driver.

Why not, is still Norris who has the bigger chance, no ?

I believe that they will be handled both the same , what counts is the constructors title which is in their hands now

It is hard to say if the contact was caused by Sainz already losing control or Checo hitting him. Sainz car already looks in some kind of uncontrolled state in your video.

The most likely is that the both of them will be handed socalled equal status. Makes sense since the constructor championship is the real King. :slightly_smiling_face:

Yes as Piastri has the momentum at the moment it would not be fair to make Norris No1
