Putin annexes Ukraine territories as Zelenskyy wants Nato application fast-tracked
Who knows, perhaps in that wankers mind this IS his victory and he may now withdraw from Ukraine?
Rather unlikely i know, what goes on in his loony mind god knows.
Maybe he thinks now, in his warped mind, he has reclaimed his territories and achieved his objectives but it would be a way out for him right now without losing too much face.
Afterall he has had a great fanfare in Moscow announcing it.
Lets face it now he is going nowhere in this war except great embarrassment.
The paper Putin signed is worth nothing. The paper Zelenskyy signed however should be of great concern for Putin. But in his own warped mind he probably canât see the significance of it. The war will rage on and Ukraine WILL NOT stop until ALL Russians are out! Ukraine has come this far and they have absolutely no plans in stopping now.
Ukraine canât anyway and nobody wants Ukraine to stop because when you think about it, this is the first time since WW2 land has been invaded and taken over in Europe. I think Europe must give Ukraine anything they need from now on.

Yes you are quite right on every point you make, i was just offering an alternative theory.
Having said that if Ukraine now go into any of these annexed territories it would give the loon the excuse to unleash a nuclear strike which if so all hell would break loose everywhere.

Must be the easiest way to infiltrate the russians, use a russian tank, they have no idea as to who is inside it until a shell hits them, bit late then

Heavy defeat for Putin: Russia gives up the strategically important city of Lyman
In yet another defeat by the Ukrainian army, Russia has given up the strategically important city of Lyman in the Donetsk region. The armed f___es had been withdrawn because of the risk of encirclement, Russian Defense Ministry spokesman Igor Konashenkov said in Moscow on Saturday. Ukrainian authorities had previously spoken of around 5,000 encircled Russian soldiers.
For weeks Lyman had been fought bitterly. After the defeat in the northern Ukrainian region of Kharkiv and their withdrawal from there, Russian troops tried to build a new front line along the Oskil and Siverskyi Donets rivers.
Lyman as the nearest town across from the Sloviansk conurbation held by Kyiv - Kramatorsk was considered important in this respect. On the one hand, to be able to launch attacks in the north of the Donbass region, on the other hand as a barrier for a Ukrainian counter-offensive.
After intense fighting, the city fell on Saturday. Ukrainian units hoisted the blue and yellow national flag in Lyman. The Ukrainians had previously taken the city in the pliers. Attacks were launched from the west as well as from the north and south.
The Russiansâ only supply and retreat link to the east via Zarichne and Torske came under fire from the Ukrainian artillery. Under these circumstances, it is unclear how many Russian soldiers died or were taken prisoner.

Hajdaj said there had never been such a number of encircled Russians in the war. After the Russian defeat in Kharkiv, Lyman was considered so important that the Russian leadership wanted to hold the city as long as possible, at least until the declaration of the annexation of the four Ukrainian regions of Cherson, Donetsk, Luhansk and Zaporizhia.
Russian President Vladimir Putin announced the annexation at a ceremony in the Kremlin on Friday. No state recognizes this breach of international law. Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy had announced that all occupied territories would be liberated. To do this, he relies on heavy weapons from the West and on military advisors from the NATO countries.
With the fall of Lyman, the path to Kreminna and Svatowe opened up for the Ukrainian troops. Both cities are located in the Luhansk region and - especially Swatowe - are considered important transport hubs. This would be a devastating signal for the Kremlin. At the beginning of the summer, the Russian army declared the Luhansk region âliberatedâ. (dpa)
