Discussion about Russian invasion of Ukraine

It changed when they didn’t have 100% agreement, it was fine as long as it was a circle jerk.

Just reading back in some of the original posts, whoops got that wrong then Jabs!!!

Can we vent here? Never mind I will keep it to myself… Хай живе Україна.

No excuse really, just gutless as the rest of the EU are as they are still using their oil and gas.

2 reasons #Su34 of #Russia is downed in #Ukraine

The Truth About Vladimir Putin’s Time In The KGB

They shot him again :grimacing:

How is everyone doing? It is not strange that the chat has died down some, but still. How is everyone?

Just shows how dependant the EU is on Russian oil and gas and why they are refusing to sanction their precious supplies.
Not good eh?

Definitely not good, but a problem of leadership over the years. They relied on Russian leadership, I believe, hoping that they would remain at peace with the world. Again, the entire world has been built upon NATO and EU and all these international relationships – to the point where when the s__t hits the fan – nobody knows what to do.

What saddens me the most is watching the news about all these countries and visas. They keep repeating “they can work for us, they can go to our schools, etc. etc.” but to be honest – I think that the only thing that the Ukrainians want is to GO HOME.

It was either coal (dirty), nuclear (expensive), wind/solar (not enough) power or Russian gas. Cheap, easy and fast. The choice was not that hard at the time.

I also think that everyone knows that SOMEDAY there will be a third major war. It is inevitable. The world will never be truly united, as some believe one thing and others believe other things.

A good lesson for the EU to be learned is never get in bed with the enemy.
Now they are so reliant on them it’s just sad to see.
Will they ever learn?

To be fair for a long time Russia did not seem like an enemy. It was a mistake to rely only on one source of supply. To that I agree.

But i do fear for my kids and especially my grandc___dren, what a future to look forward to eh.?
All just because of pure selfishness.!!!

And there will be a fourth and fifth and so on…

Einstein once said: “I do not know what weapons will be used in WW3 but in WW4 they will fight with sticks and stones.”

Russia have always been the enemy especially since Putin has been in power but no one in the EU has been prepared to accept or realise that.
Now they are realising the mistake of their foolishness or just downright arrogance to the truth but all too late in the day.
Very sad to see.

At least after 2014 they should have seen the problem and should have prepared to become independent of Russian supplies…

Do you know where UK gets its gas from? Norway? It is not too far away for a pipeline. Or all liquid gas by ships?

I was on an ex-pat forum this morning where they are all panicking about moving away from Poland back to the UK for safety.

And I am not being depressive here, but rather realistic, and I tried to explain to them that nowhere will be safe in the next World War, but all of them are convinced that it will be a conventional war that will be fought if Poland was attacked. After five mins of discussion, I got bored with their naivety and wished them luck and got out of the chat. I really hope they are right but ignoring something just because you don’t want it to happen is just plain daft.
