I don’t understand why the Federal Republic of Germany is still getting hundreds of millions of euros in gas and oil from Russia every day, thereby indirectly helping Putin to finance the war. I wouldn’t find it unreasonable to only heat the apartment to 15°C out of solidarity with Ukraine. That’s the least we can do.
This Russian Embassy are in full propaganda mode.

Because our government consists of Pussies with no balls
The west doesn’t really need to sanction the Russian oil and gas. all they need to do ( which they have already done to some extent ) is to sanction their financial system. so even though Russia will be able to sell its oil and gas, they’d not be able to access the money which is blocked in foreign banks. Sanctioning the oil and gas would put so much pressure on world’s economy and it’s illogical at this stage, on top of that China would not uphold such sanctions.
There are not many things left we can sanction…
Lavrov’s press conference in Antalya today was nothing but lies and a fairy tale. He needs to know that there are thousands of videos on the internet debunking all his lies. Hopefully one day he will be held accountable in court.
I don’t think they have completely cut them off the financial system yet ( correct me if I am wrong ), they can start with that, and once they can secure the replacement for its oil and gas they can stop buying them from Russia ( USA & UK have already done that ), Biden was trying to convince UAE & Suadi Arabia to increase their oil production to replace the Russian oil, but they did not answer his call, they might need some time to convince them first.
If that were the case, Russia would not be getting paid for gas and oil right now. Without payment they would immediately stop the delivery I think. Am I wrong?
Like I said I am not sure if they have been completely cut off the financial system yet, I don’t know how they would react when it happens but they won’t be able to stop their production immediately, They would continue to sell to Europe until they can find other customers for it ( China, India, Pakistan, etc … ) and meanwhile the money goes to their blocked foreign account, that’s exactly what happened to Iran when they were put under sanction due to their nuclear program, they have Billions of dollars in their foreign account but they can’t access the funds.
Without the gas millions, the ruble will plummet even further. People won’t all accept that. They are already complaining that their savings are gone.
Yes, the Ruble is going to be worthless very soon. the Russian people need to convert their savings to US.Dollar or Euro before they loose it all. right now Russian central bank has put 30% commission for buying foreign currency, to deter people from making the exchange, but IMO it’s still worth doing so as Ruble will continue to devaluate unless they agree to a ceasefire soon.
I just read a report that our GREEN Federal Foreign Minister Annalena Baerbock also rejects a gas import ban. I am more and more amazed by our GREEN politicians…
Most Russians are not wealthy, on the contrary. And these poor people have nothing left to lose because they have already lost everything. If they take to the streets, Putin cannot lock up a few million people. He could fall over them.
THey are all pussies.
Robert Habeck just explained it in the same way on ZDF. The way he explains it is also to be understood. But since the economy is preferred to humanity.
The last poll I saw and some of the interviews from foreign reports state that 58% of the people support Putin and the government. It would be a civil b___d bath.
I wouldn’t want to say that. I don’t want to be in the shoes of those who have to decide now. If you don’t have to bear the responsibility, you can say something because it has no consequences.
That’s how I see it too. In particular, since gas as a fossil fuel is already frowned upon by the Greens and they want to focus more on renewable energies, I am so surprised that this party of all people is suddenly thinking more about the economy than about the environment and, quite incidentally, wants to fill Putin’s pockets .
Great. Ursula von der Leyen has just announced via tweet that the EU should stop importing Russian gas from 2027. Does that really help Ukraine now?
Well she was fail as secretary of defense already so why should she now be any better?
