I’m American and only speak English. The translation button is limited and not always available. It’s unfortunate we can’t chat in private

There is an option to copy and paste what’s written into google translate if needed, or other translating service

I’m just replying to her

Thanks for replying. I understand. English is not an easy language. The rules seem to change with every sentence you write. But there are very good books and videos available. I’ll see if I find some links and send them to you. Keep learning!!!

Hi Clara. He is British. Your teacher was correct. Sometimes, I think Scots think everything is Scottish. This is what Wiki says.

Sir Arthur Ignatius Conan Doyle KStJ DL (22 May 1859 – 7 July 1930) was a British writer and physician. He created the character Sherlock Holmes in 1887 for A Study in Scarlet, the first of four novels and fifty-six short stories about Holmes and Dr. Watson. The Sherlock Holmes stories are milestones in the field of crime fiction.

Sorry @letsdothis but in the picture above it has his place of birth as Edinburgh, now as the honorary Jock here can we guess what country that would be? :yum:
