It is a shame that telegram doesn’t have a translate function, unless you pay for the premium version :slightly_frowning_face:

Are you referring to plain text, text in a picture, text in a video or the audio in a video?

Don’t worry, I have sorted it now. I had the translate option in my ‘settings’ turned off.
The software is only as good as the user

You need premium if you want the entire chats to be translated though.

You can also do it yourself quite quickly and easily. For example, Google Lens will translate text on your screen, which would include pictures, screenshots, paused videos, etc.

If you have an assistant installed, it may also be able to translate stuff on your screen for you. For example, Google Assistant has a translate button built in. It invokes Google Lens to translate anything on your screen.

You can access Google Lens through Google, Google Assistant, Chrome or using this link. There may also be other ways to access Lens.

Actually, this link no longer takes you to a translation page. It just gives you links to download the app. Unfortunately, at least for me, none of those links work. They all return an invalid dynamic link error. Your mileage may vary.

Here’s an example of what it can do. The original is a few posts up.

I’m sure there are other ways of translating things on your screen, as well.

This camera has been adjusted. It no longer points as far as the front door!
