Australian floods

OMG :flushed: It’s like the entire ocean came through.

It’s been so hard for us here in our town. The floods have decimated our lives around us. We have thousands of people who have lost everything and whole towns destroyed. I didn’t really want to talk about it here, because we have been working nonstop clearing out houses and all it’s contents. People have literally only the clothes on their back. Being in a potential flood plain, nearly all don’t have insurance.

Over 20 meters deep. Wiped out everything

Some pictures after a week since the floods.

By the way. That McDonald’s sign disappeared under the water.

This gives you an idea how deep some places got.

You really say water was as high as that power line? :scream:

Right now, we have so many homeless people s___ping in the cars, whole families and the mountains of rubbish out on the streets, makes it look like a war zone. We had the 100 year floods back in 2017. Then the biggest bushfires of all time 2019/20. Then COVID, now the floodwaters of a thousand years this month. I’m so tired.

I was on the boat’s rescuing people bro. No government help for 6 fucking day’s. if us locals didn’t do it. The death toll would have been horrendous

Crazy. We had a bad flood in a region here in Germany too last year. But this seems a whole different dimension. Maybe stupid question so please excuse:
Where does the water all come from? So much rain? I always thought Australia is very dry and also does not have many rivers. Or flooding from the ocean?

Here on the northern New South Wales coast, it’s very tropical. Australia is the size of the EU bro. Lots of different climates and zones. We get hot, dry, wet. Everything, and it’s becoming more extreme

Thanks for explanation :+1:

That looks simply unreal. Crazy amount of water :scream:
