So I got banned. I guess there’s a first for everything.
How did I find out? I could not log in. Duh. But I had received an email:

I want to describe how I felt but my keyboard doesn’t have the right letters.
You people think you know me. You think I am funny, sometimes a bit blunt (Hey I’m from Holland) but overall a nice guy yes? No. No I’m not. In reality I am much nicer than that. I would never hurt anyone. I take ‘woke’ as a compliment. I think Joe Biden is a right-wing extremist. All my grandparents offered shelter to jews in the Second World War and every year me and all of the families of their grandc___dren are invited to attend some ceremony on the the 5th of May to remember the horrors of the holocaust.

Ok about the homos. I don’t know where to begin. I’m getting emotional. You people know I’m from Holland yes? The Netherlands. I live in Amsterdam. Here it is 2022. Homosexuality, being gay, is not an issue here. We celebrate homosexuality. Like the other day, true story. Some of you won’t believe me. A friend of mine comes up to me, a woman, 45 I think. M____r of 3. Her d______r 8 years old had said to her: “Mommy, I think I might be a lesbian”. And this m____r was so happy. “Imagine! A gay d______r! Oh let’s hope she is.”
I told you you wouldn’t believe me. But it is a true story. Honest to God. That is how we live here. That is where I come from. Ok one more example. I have time. I said we here celebrate homosexuality, gays, the whole lhgbta+ movement (I may have gotten this wrong but that’s because all this is NO ISSUE here, get it?) Celebrate. Gay pride. Amsterdam. No? Let me show you:
The first hit on Youtube when searching for gay pride. This is 2018. The 23rd year. Due to corona and bad weather this one comes up first I guess. There is some controversy about the pride here. Some gays say that they are not so extravert and want heteros to see them as normal people, not clowns. The majority of the people say well if you don’t want to dance on a boat and get _____ then ok but come on! Show who you are, celebrate life! That is where I live.

Some of you might say: Yes everything nice and easy but being from Amsterdam doesn’t mean you can’t be a homophobe. That is true. We still have violence against gays here in the city. And it makes people really sad and angry and it’s the Police’s highest priority but I’m affraid we can never stop this. We can fight it We can educate people. C___dren. Sex education here starts at the age of 5. Telling c___dren everybody is ok. No matter who you love.
Ok enough of that. That is my background. This will have to help explain my post that was deleted and got me banned.
So no explanation. Not on the forum, not another email, nothing.
So I got dressed first. Coffee. Think. Think man! A mistake surely, but where, when, why? Who?
Weird enough I found out quite quickly what might have caused the problem. Only one of my posts had been deleted. Deleted, not hidden or something (that happens sometimes when somebody writes something stupid or nazi) Deleted. Without any comment.
It was a very short post, only 6 or 7 words. In the Tata thread.
I had posted this right after some controversy in the @Carlos_Claire thread. Carlos and Claire had some guests. It was Carlos’ brother and his gay friend. Carlos is Italian. Keep this in mind. A gay brother and his friend from Italy. Ok so everybody was having a good time. Until the evening came and one of the guests was taking a shower. He didn’t want to be exposed naked on the internet and so he covered the camera with the shower curtain. Outrage on the forum. People complaining. Saying things like: “We payed good money for nudity and now this! This is cheating.”
Let me look it up. ah here. In post #1030 first complaint about a non working camera. In Italian. Reply: “A curtain is in front of it.” In post #1066 I reply to a deleted (I see this now as I write) post. I say:
“Interesting. Also happened last night. A curtain blocking the camera. In the bathroom. An accident or no? I don’t know the details in the contracts with VHTV. I’m here to watch real people living real lives. And real people sometimes have guests. Family. People that have no business with VHTV. Probably the participants inform their guests about the cameras and VHTV. They agree to come anyways but would like some privacy. I can totaly understand that. If this is against the rules of VHTV it would mean that these real people can never invite family again. Is that what we want?”
Post #1071 me: “The brother brought his friend. Maybe he wants to protect his privacy? I don’t have a problem with that. And once you have been on RLC, you don’t have any rights on privacy ever again? I would like to know the details in the contracts. About having family over. What are the rules?”
And finaly in post #1077 I write: “So you want everybody who sets foot in a house with VHTV camera’s to give up their privacy. Even partners of family members. Even in the showers. Ok, if that is your view. It is not mine. I want participants to be able to have guests. Family and their partners. But you still haven’t shown me the rules.”
So I am talking to people who are complaining that guests of Carlos and Claire, a gay couple from Italy(!), are blocking a camera in the bathroom. They say they are braking the rules. I want to see those rules. I ask them. I ask VHTV. As usual, no reply. This is becomming a theme. The discussion goes on for a bit longer, have a look for yourself. Thread Carlos and Claire.
Now. My post that got deleted. That was in the Tata thread. Only moments later. What happened? There’s this new guest. A male. A black man. He is taking a shower. Please take a look at post #1204 in the Tata thread. Pictures of the man in the shower. The text: “a guy put at towel on the camera in the bathroom. is that against the rules?”
Remember this was only a short while after the Carlos and Claire discussion where I took a stand for the hosts and their guests.
So how did I reply? What did I say? What post got deleted, not hidden, and got me banned?
If I say it, will it get me banned again? It might. So I will refrase. I said, in some other words, as an answer to the question “is that against the rules?” I said:
“Not if you are from a certain country and are of a certain sexual orientation.”
That is it. That got me banned. Now you tell me, yes you, is this a reason for a ban? I don’t think so.
That’s all. This is my side of the story. I would love to hear the other side. I have no clue. That’s why I asked. But I got no reply. Maybe this will help?
The only thing I think I might have done wrong, is making a complicated joke without explaining that I was refering to another thread. Could be. But then, I should have gotten a warning first or a question what I was talking about. That would have been fair.
I think I know what some of you are thinking. “Now now Stinky, lighten up. A little ban. It’s all in the past. No harm done. You live.”
And they would be correct. The ban gave me some insights and gave me the opportunity to think about what happened to Hindy. The ban was not so bad.
But homophobic and Nazi?
That hurts. And it will take some time to heal. That is why I wanted to tell you something about myself, show how absurd that statement is.
I hope the people responsible for calling me that and got me banned are sorry. If they would come forward, here or in private, and say now look ok we were wrong, we didn’t know and we won’t do it again, then I will try and forget the whole matter. In the end I believe that most people mean no harm.

I never thought you are a Nazi or against gay people. In fact we never had any problems with each other. So yes I think you are a nice person. At least as nice as me 
You know I am one of the first people here in forums reacting when I see far right things posted here as I have zero tolerance for that. Well I saw your post which got you banned and I thought to myself “Well that will take the whole discussion to this topic now” It was obvious from that post you were a bit angry when making it. As I knew the context of that post I never had in mind it could be bad. But when you read it out of context it could indeed sound like you have written something against Italians and / or gay people. I have no idea who reported that post but I guess he or she read it totally out of context. By the way I reported a gay hating post of a guy yesterday and that guy got a ban til first of April. And that is well deserved. We can now argue if your ban was deserved when reading the post out of context or not. I think you should have given the opportunity to explain yourself at least.

As I said before it’s a travesty that you were banned without at least a chance to explain yourself and I think out of courtesy @VHTV_CEO or someone from the @VHTV_James team could make a comment, so something like this doesn’t happen again. I got a warning and rightly so over one of my posts and it gave me the option to edit it which I did right away and I am sure that if Stinky was given that option he would of course done the same thing, because anyone can see that’s the sort of person he is.

I remember reading your comment Stinky240 and I didn’t think it was in any way bad or would merit a ban. I actually thought it was witty like so many of your posts. I am actually shocked you got banned for that because I have read a lot worse on threads here. Some comments made by some people have been very direct and nasty. But given what you said… jeez that really is a surprise. I am delighted to see you back and WELCOME BACK!

It would be nice to know that they have learned something from this Stinky, but it just proves by your comment that they were 100% wrong in what they did and you are a much better person than they are.

They were quick to defend the Cooper and Charlize debacle and made many posts in the thread BUT on this ban thread they chose to remain silent - HUH!!! Makes you think or wonder. Seems like violence and using the ban hammer are quite common as part of VHTV.

@Stinky240 , IMHO, calling someone ‘Nazi’, especially in this day and age, is reprehensible. They got this whole situation so wrong in so many ways. You are none of what they said. That ban is a mark that stays on your account and has a bearing on how you move up the ranks on this forum. They should remove it because this was just wrong.
