why are you responding to a song that our parents listened to with such propaganda. I had no evil intentions when I put on this kindest song

Propaganda has lies in it and none of the words in that song were lies and they were all facts that happened. It was meant as amusement but I see your funny bone is absent. :joy:  :joy:

I have other funny priorities :beers: (and you were not there for the truth. I guess)

How are we meant to know anything about who this is, what the song is about - a little insight or just post it from Youtube would go a long way in informing people, otherwise its just a load a gibberish.

Boy, you don’t have to listen to this, it’s enough that I heard it. Here’s the topic . :+1: What’s the best song you have heard today?

I am not trying to be an ass here just trying to understand context and I know what the title is as I wrote it a year or so ago and it was to introduce your choices of music to other people, but what is the point if we don’t who the singer is, nor what is about?

Let’s put it this way, for those who don’t understand Russian, it’s just beautiful music. Kind regards :clinking_glasses: :+1: The song “Old Maple” is one of those compositions that connects generations. It is so loved by the residents of our country that sometimes it is mistakenly called folk. Although it was written for the film “Girls” in 1961. For more than half a century, the song continues to live, remains famous and loved. And certainly, at least once a year, during the pre-New Year broadcast of the film “Girls”, each of us sings along with pleasure.

Thank you very much. :+1:

My favourite artist at the moment and I may be a little bit biased as he is from my hometown of Brighton and all the videos are filmed in the city.
He has an amazing skill and ability to record and produce music of many genres, soul, jazz, rapping you name it he does it all by himself independent from the music industry which he calls corrupt and doesn’t want anything to do with them. Yet he was still able to have a number-one album in the UK. :+1: :+1: :+1:

This last one is from Ren & Sam Tompkins who is from Eastbourne and is my niece’s boyfriend or he might be an ex now, can’t keep up with things back in the UK. :yum:

Happy Birthday to Stephen Stills, who is turning 80 today. Buffalo Springfield, Crosby, Stills, Nash & Young and solo artist, this man is one of the greats. As both singer or songwriter, as well as guitarist, he deserves a toast or two on his birthday :beers:

Stephen Stills - Love the One You’re With

Stephen Stills’ self-titled debut solo album from 1970 is so good that it it deserves one more. I proposed a toast or two, now didn’t I

On his birthday, I’ve been listening to some more Stephen Stills today. I came upon this intersting clip from a festival in the US few months ago, with him performing the Buffalo Springfield classic For What It’s Worth, together with Neil Young.

This is an amateur recording, so obviously the video quality is so-so, though the sound is pretty decent. Also, Stephen and Neil is obviously past their prime. After all, they are both pushing 80 here. Still, good to see these two oldies are at it after all these years :guitar:
