North Country Music - Ain’t No Grave
This song has a strong religious message to it. Yet, even though I’m an atheist, this song resonates with me. After 2024 being rather rough, with a cople of health scares the last couple of months, including two days in hospital, I guess I’m feeling a little reflective and philosophical at the end of the year.
I am a little man. I’ve done no great deeds. Still, I’ve given some help, love and affection through my years. If some of it remains in the world after I’m gone, my life has not been totally in vain.
Ain’t no grave gonna hold my spirit down!

The first of my short obituaries of 2025 is going to be a special one. The Australian comedy singer and guitarist Chad Morgan passed away earlier today, at the age of 91. He released his first record in 1952 and held his last concert in April last year. That is a career spanning well over 70 years!
Chad Morgan was a popular entertainer down under, who’s gotten several music awards in both Australia and New Zeeland. His speciality was funny lyrics, a goofy stage appearance and a very prominent set of front teeth. Now it’s time to say thank you for the laughs and music Chad, may you be remembered,

why are you responding to a song that our parents listened to with such propaganda. I had no evil intentions when I put on this kindest song 
Propaganda has lies in it and none of the words in that song were lies and they were all facts that happened. It was meant as amusement but I see your funny bone is absent. 
I have other funny priorities 
(and you were not there for the truth. I guess)
How are we meant to know anything about who this is, what the song is about - a little insight or just post it from Youtube would go a long way in informing people, otherwise its just a load a gibberish.

I am not trying to be an ass here just trying to understand context and I know what the title is as I wrote it a year or so ago and it was to introduce your choices of music to other people, but what is the point if we don’t who the singer is, nor what is about?

The song “Old Maple” is one of those compositions that connects generations. It is so loved by the residents of our country that sometimes it is mistakenly called folk. Although it was written for the film “Girls” in 1961. For more than half a century, the song continues to live, remains famous and loved. And certainly, at least once a year, during the pre-New Year broadcast of the film “Girls”, each of us sings along with pleasure.
