Happy Birthday to Welsh guitarist and singer Dave Edmunds, who is turning 79 today. He got known in blues rock/psychedelia band Love Sculpture in the late 1960’s, before starting a long solo career. He was also in the band Rockpile, along with Nick Lowe, in the late 70’s and early 80’s. During those years he had several hits in the UK. For my Birtday tribute, I choose the song In the Land of the Few by Love Sculpture. Happy Birthday tou you, Dave.
what a great musician!
love a lot of songs of him like sabre dance and queen of hearts ( later covered by Juice Newton)
but this one was always my favorite
Dave Edmunds - Here come the weekend
Let us celebrate the memory of English singer and guitarist Steve Marriott, who passed away 32 years ago today, at the age of 44. He is first known from The Small Faces and then from Humble Pie, and had several hits with both bands. There is much to choose from as a tribute to his memory. I’ll just go for The Small Faces and Itchycoo Park.
just back home from a Pink Floyd tribute band… so still in the mood for some of that
Pink Floyd- One of these days
And a ZZ Top song thats in my head for weeks…
ZZ Top - Brown Sugar ( no, nothing in common with the rolling stones - Brown Sugar )
0:30: Depp. Dieser Depp, dieser Depp
1:19: Mister Taliban
Since Danko Jones is coming back with a new song
Danko Jones- Guess who’s back

Danko Jones- Soul on Ice
Not a song but peaceful music and awesome video…
Its wonderful to see two people that don’t know each other created such a masterpiece of art.
Happy Birthday to American singer, guitarist and songwriter Willie Nelson, who is turning 90 (!) today. During his long career, he has written songs that have become standards in popular music. I have seen him live once, together with The Highwaymen in 1992. In spite of his age, Willie Nelson is still active. Here’s a clip recorded ten days ago. It’s one of my favourite songs of his, Angels Flying Too Close to the Ground
It’s one of those amateur recordings from a concert, so the sound quality is not the best. Still it is decent, and the guitar picking by a 90 years old musician is a joy to watch and listen to.
Let us celebrate the memory of English guitarist Mick Ronson, who passed away 30 years ago today, at the age of 46. He made some solo records and played guitar with Mott the Hoople and then Ian Hunter, when Mott split. However, he is of course best known for his time in David Bowie’s band at the time around Ziggy Stardust. Here is Mick Ronson at a tribute concert for Freddie Mercury in 1992, along with Bowie and what was left of Queen then. The song is Heroes
I got to see Mick Ronson live once, at a concert with Ian Hunter in the late 1980’s. Still remember when he used a disposable lighter to play slide guitar. Never seen that, neither before or after.
tonight on BBC2 at 23:00 hr CET you can watch Willie Nelson at Glastonbury 2010
Such a great band. I’ve seen them twice and once with Jonsi as a solo. Nothing like seeing them play live.
