What's the best song you have heard today?

Bonnie Tyler is in stable condition in a hospital in Portugal, her team has announced on the singer’s website. The 74-year-old Tyler is still very ill, but doctors expect the Welsh singer to make a full recovery.

In the statement, the singer’s family also responds to rumors circulating in the media. According to family members, inaccurate and shocking stories are being spread.

The family asks the media to stop speculating. “If there is new information regarding her health, a new statement will follow,” the statement reads.

Tyler, known for hits including Total Eclipse of the Heart, was rushed to the hospital last week for surgery on her intestines. After the surgery, she was placed in an artificial coma to aid her recovery.

New Statement on Bonnie’s Health

As of this morning Bonnie remains seriously ill but stable in hospital in Faro, however her doctors are still positive that she will make a full recovery.

Bonnie’s family are very disappointed at the many lurid and untrue rumours now circulating in the media and would like to make it clear that Liberto Mealha does not represent them in any way whatsoever and is not in contact with them regarding Bonnie.

When there is any further news of Bonnie’s condition then we will issue another statement but ask that the media cease to speculate or publish wild rumours, which simply serve to upset her family, friends, and many fans, and ask again for privacy and decency at this difficult time.

Thank you for your comment, that’s cool to hear. I’ve actually thought about doing something like you suggest. Unfortunately music insight is not enough here, you need some charisma and good looks too, and I’m afraid I’m lacking some when it comes to that :winking_face_with_tongue:

Deep Purple - Arrogant Boy (2026)

New song from Deep Purple, from the band’s forthcoming album due for release in July.

Look at Ian Paice on the drums. He is 77 now, and for 58 of those years he’s been the drummer in Deep Purple. He is the only constant member of the band and has drummed on all their albums and all their concerts!

Time for a little trivia to end with. In April 1968 a band called Roundabout was touring Sweden and Denmark. During the tour they began discussing to change the band’s name. Guitarist Ritcie Blackmore suggested Deep Purple, after his grandmother’s favourite song. And thus Deep Purple Mk. 1 were born.

If you wonder what Ritchie Blackmore’s grandmother’s favourite song sounds like, here it is :musical_notes:

Happy Birthday to Brian Peter George Eno, best known as just Brian Eno, who is turning 78 today. Whether as musician, songwriter, singer, visual artist or author, this is a man who keeps busy. In addition he’s also produced or co-produced his fair share of records, including albums by among others U2, Talking Heads, Ultravox, Peter Gabriel and Coldplay.

As a musician Brian Eno first came to notice in Roxy Music, playing moog synthesizer. Due to disagreements with Bryan Ferry, he quit after the band’s two first albums and pursued a solo career. His debut album was released in 1974, and after that he has released dozens of albums, both in his own name and in collaboration with among others Robert Fripp, John Cale, Daniel Lanois, David Byrne, John Paul Jones and his brother Roger Eno.

Brian Eno’s music is often quiet and repetitive, and it became known as ambient music. The music can be beuatiful, but it can also test your patience. Some of his “songs” are long, and slow. Very long and very slow. So to celebrate his birthday, let’s go for a shorter one, a lovely piece of music from the Apollo album. Happy Birthday to Brian Eno :wine_glass:

Blue Rodeo - 5 Days in May (1993)

We’re in the middle of May, and I keep my “Songs with the month in the title”- project going with this great song. It’s an old favourite of mine. Even if its seven minutes long, I could listen to it several times in a row back in the day.
