and because ‘Mad Max: Fury Road’ has good soundtrack, here is one for the Metal fans. it’s not really Metal i think, but something similar. A mix of different thing, also punk-rock, hardcore, i don’t know. and is not soundtrack at all.
You are more than welcome. Listening to different genres and how various bands have evolved over the passage of time is one of lifes guilty pleasures as well. Cheers
it is one of the best-selling albums in music history.
may be because most people like it best.
I like it, because Stevie Nicks sings all(?) the the songs
15 hours later:
‘all(?) the the songs’ - wrong memory…
i had only ‘women voices’ and her name left in storage. meanwhile i’ve restored some infos by wicki.
?? years and 45 minutes later:
I listened to the whole album again and…yes…i still like all songs
and i watched 'Stevie Nicks - Edge of Seventeen (Official Music Video) again and now i know, why the ‘orange’ at temp-house remembered me to somebody
It seems like Fleetwood Mac is the theme again, so allow me to add my thoughts. I may be the odd one out here, but however good an album Rumours is and the many fine songs from the Buckingham/Nicks era there are, my Fleetwood Mac will always be the Green/Spencer/Kirwan era. I’m not sure Rumours was released yet the first time I heard this early version of the band. The first cut is the deepest.
Fleetwood Mac - Man of the World (1969)
The guitarists from left to right: Jeremy Spencer, Danny Kirwan and Peter Green. Then of course the “eternal” rhythm section of Fleetwood and McVie.
Happy Birthday to Mick Jones, who is turning 70 today. Co-founder of The Clash, where he played lead guitar and did the occasional lead vocals. After being ousted from The Clash in 1983, he’s been busy with other bands (Big Audio Dynamite and Carbon/Silicon most notably) and done a lot of work as a record producer. He may be a little forgotten these days, but this guy’s done some mighty fine work in the rock world through the years. Happy birthday to Mick Jones
The Clash - Police On My Back (with Mick Jones on lead vocals)
Mick Jones was the singer on what may be The Clash’s best known song, but Should I Stay Or Should I Go has been posted before. So I chose another one with him snging on it.
Seems like @Lukas156546 and I posted simultaneously here about Mick Jones of The Clash. Say what you will about us, but at least we do make sure that everything is properly covered and taken well care of in the music topic
i have 2 nice ladies today
Lorrie Morgan - 27. june 1959, country singer
Gabriella Wilson (H.E.R.) - 27. june 1997, singer songwriter
both slow ballads but nice voices. nothing i would skip, so can post it here.
100 years ago today the American songwriter and musician Doc Pomus (1925-1991) was born. Best known as a songwriter, who had several huge hits in the 1950’s and 60’s, most of them co-written with Mort Shuman. His behind songs by among others Ben E. King, Ray Charles and The Everly Brothers.
However, Doc Pomus’ best known songs were recorded by Elvis Presley, and by The Drifters. Now here’s a couple of songs to his memory
Elvis Presley - Surrender (Number 1 in both the US and the UK)
The Drifters - Save the Last Dance For Me (number 1 in the US, 2 in the UK)
Doc Pomus is also the man who gave Lou Reed (1942-2013) his first break back before Velvet Underground, when Reed was an aspiring songwriter in “Tin Pan Alley” in New York. Lou Reed’s 1992 album is dedicated to Doc Pomus. Lou Reed visited him in hospital when he was dying from cancer.
Lou Reed - Sword of Damocles
I did see Lou Reed live back when he toured this album. It’s quite the memory.
sometimes when some utube playlists plays in the background, i get remembered of this or that song. here is one with a good cover version added.
Gotye - Somebody That I Used To Know (feat. Kimbra)
