Hey, @Jon. You’ve done a great job of stacking tabs on a screen. It’s amazing.
If I’m understanding correctly, there may be a different way of doing this without the addition of any extra software, plug-ins, extensions, etc.
Windows comes with a built-in feature called Snap that, I think, allows you to do the same thing. You have to toggle it on if it isn’t already (Windows+i + System + Multitasking + toggle Snap on).
Here’s a short article to get you started. It says the bigger your screen, the more layouts you’ll get to choose from. I imagine yours are fairly large.
yes, the function is known. but it is not nearly as mature as the powertoys, and only works sensibly under win10 with ‘normal’ operation when windows are docked to the edge of the screen. I know that you can then do more with keyboard entries, but it’s cumbersome³
I don’t know how it is under win11, my current main computer won’t get it
it is definitely helpful! there is definitely someone who would like that but didn’t know
but for me it was more to be reminded of the menu item where you can deactivate this function I find it incredibly annoying when the “intelligence” of windows means that it have to dock something just because I have a program too close to the edge of the screen. in the rarest of cases I want the same thing as windows
