I live in Germany and have decent internet. I’m a customer since yesterday and I noticed that no matter if in the morning or evening your site loads very slowly, that I can not even watch the VODs. Is it always like this ?
I like your project and support it, but in this case Im paying but not watch anything.
We don’t have any running issues on our side, but would be really glad to help you.
Please send us a request via support page and our awesome staff will assist you. It will require some data to be provided from you, they will ask for it.
One thing in the context i wonder about is why i somentimes do not have any problems viewing the live stream while the time line and the archives are very slow. Sometimes everything works perfectly fine and a minute later the timeline doesn’t work anymore. Five minutes later it is ok again. Soemtines it is like gambling to get an archive video running. Could this be a problem on my side at all? I will try to contact support next time, but i really wonder if anyone else is having issues like that. Same country as Jabbath and Frixed if that’s of interest.
This happens in different countries, unfortunately. There is no way for us as a company to solve the problem of end-user when there’s an ISP who is providing bad service. You can only try addressing the issue to your ISP in this case. What we see is that we evenly stream the content to all the clients at EU & Americas.
But I’d also suggest you sending a message via support page to see if they can provide any assistance on that. Maybe switching other server for you via support will solve the issue, but I don’t think it’s the case here.
The whole website “weighs” megabytes and loads not as frequent as streams. The stream & timelime require your browser to download video parts the whole time you’re watching the stream. It consumes gigabytes of data. Based on our experience, providers who don’t care about net neutrality principles re-prioritize their loads based on their commercial interest.
If we talk about other sites with the scale of Google (Youtube) or Amazon (Twitch), there’s a whole lot of different scale of commercial interest for ISPs In addition, such companies and some other just sign the contracts with large uplink ISPs (who provide their services to smaller ISPs) to get the largest throughput as possible. I don’t know how it’s done now, but in the past they even put their servers within ISPs data-centers to allow the fastest connection possible to their servers for ISP clients.
