Are there any compelling reasons why you believe the site was a scam?
Besides being clipped from unknown sources?
The company behind it (Which registered the site) is known for being a company run by North Koreans to launder money.
This is just an article from an anonymous website, but I haven’t found any OFFICIAL information (courts, prosecutors, official media) confirming that DT.LTD itself is a fraudster or is engaged in money laundering. Any accusations of money laundering must be supported by official documents. Anything else is just gossip and speculation, at the level of conspiracy theories.
On the Internet, domain registrars in offshore jurisdictions are often used to register HUNDREDS of different websites, but this is not proof that the registrar itself is a criminal organization.
The website is not anonymous at all

Medea seemed to last all this time without really doing anything. I know her fella stays periodically - is he a soldier or works away a lot?

DT Ltd. is simply an accredited offshore domain registrar. It provides offshore domains to clients; they do not act as the owners of these websites. They do not control the content of these websites or the businesses conducted on them. This fact does not prove that Danesco is involved in any fraudulent schemes or manages these websites.
Still they are involved in such dubious schemes.. It sounds like you were a member of that websits. If I were you I would be carefuly with the personal information you gave them…
I wasn’t a participant, but I became interested in this issue because I encountered sites whose domains were purchased from Danesco. So now I’m convinced you don’t understand the matter and are simply stating what you saw somewhere.
I’ve never heard of the other website, but maybe they didn’t realise they would be watched 24/7.
I know it says you will be watched, but something freaked them out. Because up until they had that visitor. Nothing seem to worry them, then the realm went offline for a few days, and now this.
They pack their bags and leave.
