Video host

Hello, I made a video montage in tribute to Ryry and Tonk, but the problem is the video is heavy. Do you know a video host so that I can give the link on this forum so we can see it?

Upload it to mega I suggest. I will download it and will convert it to a formate small enough to post here

You can use myairbridge.com. You can upload as many files as you want as long as you don’t exceed 20 GB, or one file that’s 20 GB.

They have two free accounts. One is called Guest, The other is called Free. Sign up for the Free account and the link will last for 3 days. Then you can upload it again and get a new link, or you can ask people to PM you for a link and you can create one as needed. Each one will last 3 days.

Converting a video compresses it, and typically degrades the quality. We’re only allowed to post files up to 97.7 MB on the forum. So, if your file is very large the compression will be excessive, as will the quality degradation.

We solved it with Mega. Video is already posted here. But thanks :hugs:

About the quality getting worse: Not everytime true. Sometimes there is data rendered in the background which is not needed or simply not visible anyways in such a high quality.

I used the VideoProc Converter AI once again here and I can’t see any quality loss comparing the original with the smaller one

Two things: I think uploading a video to some platform or host outside of this forum is a big no-go, as the footage is owned by VHTV.

As for video compression, the bitrate or quality of VHTV streams is not very high, In my experience you can get videos of 15 to 20 minutes under the filesize limit at acceptable quality, depending on what you deem acceptable. But that may take some tinkering with resolutions and bitrates. Often a 960x540 pixel video can look just as good as the 1920x1080 source material. With long videos remember to adjust the bitrates for the audio component of the video file, the audio bitrates that these days often are the default settings are a terrible waste of bandwidth considerning the sound quality of VHTV cams. It’s better to use a big part of that bandwidth for the video component, too.

Fully agree. He only uploaded it there so I could convert it for him so he can post it here

Yes that helps a lot.

I wanted to do this to share it only on the forum because here the file size is limited but we solved the problem

Third-party file sharing sites are simply a middleman for transferring large files from one place to another. They don’t keep or publish what you upload. They’re not like the pirate sites that aggregate videos from other places.

And VHTV doesn’t pursue any legal action even against the pirate sites because it’s free advertising for them.
