As some of you may have noticed , I do sometimes listen to music. So I bump into songs that fit this topic’s theme on a more or less regular basis. Today I passed by two songs (and came to think of a third) for a former participant and VHTV legend…

…today it’s Queen

Pics from left to right by @John78, @PacerColtsFan181062 and yours truly.

Golden Earring - Vanilla Queen (1973)

Jane - Like a Queen (1973)

Bob Dylan - Queen Jane Approximately (1965)

Former participant Jane got a mention a few days ago, but she’s in a song title here (and a band name). So here we go again.

actually I would have chosen

David Bowie - China Girl (Uncensored Version)

But that would have given me an exhortation by the host.

Of course I can’t disappoint, so where to start. First of all, China Girl has already been posted for Chyna! So someone was cheating already back then. You guys truly are a bunch of rascals! Seems there’s nothing I can do about you. And secondly, why on earth does “everyone” seem to prefer David Bowie’s version of this song? I think it is ok, still I find Iggy Pop’s original from 1976 far better than Bowie’s more polished take on the song.

Apart from that, all is well. Keep up your excellent work here

Oh shit, what on earth did I unleash there :joy:

You sir. are a gentleman. Btw, same goes for me when it comes to Angel :joy:

Then again, let’s be done with Sun now. And @Kade181727 the same goes for China

Having said this, it was fun to hear T’Pau again. Good pop tune. I had to check, and yes, I still have the 7" I bought back in the day. Also I’m a little surprised to find that I’m not the only one here familiar with The Willard Grant Conspiracy.

Clint Eastwood - San Antonio Rose (1962)

Antonio

Rose (lovely pic by @ToreyK)

Since the girl on the pic of Antonio is Nari, another former participant, we’re not quite done yet. I suspect I’m not the only one who can remember her.

Aezaddy - Nari

Nari

Nari was around in the gang with among others Artem and Tristan.

Just one last note, Clint Eastwood did not release any LP’s after this one.
