Yeah thanks VH for the total loss of streaming for about 1:15mins. Great eh

Stop complaining. Technical glitches can always happen and are certainly not intentional.

The system also failed on the translation of: We stand him off. Vi står han av. :slightly_smiling_face:

I have also considered changing my alias name in here. But on the other hand it is not too bad to let it stand as it is. It is alright enough already anyway, so no problem. :joy: :hugs:

The alias name was assigned to me when I first started at the forum in the first place. So why change something which works out perfectly? Warum ändern was schon bereits alles in ordnung ist? :hugs: :joy:

Don’t think you can change it can you?

Yes, I can change it, but I will not do it. As simple as that, my dear. :hugs: :slightly_smiling_face:

The song The Norwegian or Nordmannen has got eight verses in total. Verses number six, seven and eight are very often officially left out when it is performed publicly for example for some reason. I don`t know why that is the case though. :hugs: :slightly_smiling_face:

That definitely underlines my basic point about norwegian and english not being very far apart from each other as languages. :hugs: :slightly_smiling_face:

A lot of words in Norwegian are taken from English. Now it is probably a tendency to
replace these with Norwegian ones.

Yes, exactly. And also there are a lot of english words being taken and changed within the norwegian language to deliberately make them as similar to the norwegian words as possible aswell. That is just a fact. :hugs: :joy:

Thank you @kaya for giving me 5 day standard I was really surprised I really appreciate it also I have a little bit of trouble posting pics I have more control of the premium than the Standard :wink: I also really pleased that my posts and pics is leaving a positive impact on the VHTV forum when I get off of here at night it makes me feel good that my posts are positive and the community are showing me so much  me receiving the standard or the premium means so much to me :100:
 This site so much :hugs:
Thanks Thank You GIF by @InvestInAccess

I found: Correct version of “The Norwegian”
This is the correct version of the poem as Ivar Aasen ultimately wanted it (5 verses). This version is also presented as the basis for Public performance etc. with modernized spelling :innocent: .

A very real and concrete example to illustrate this is the english word service. That means vedlikehold in norwegian. That word is today plugged in within the norwegian language as sørvis. I have to say service and sørvis are pretty much close to each other. Without stepping too much on someones toes. :hugs:

Another fun fact the other way around:
Everyday words such as “husband”, “window”, “cake”, “egg” and “law” are among the words that the English language has borrowed from the Vikings and Scandinavia. More interestingly, a long string of negative loaded words have been borrowed after the Vikings went on raids. :joy: :innocent:

Where is that version then? Is it somewhere I can download it from for example? The Norwegian with the modernized spelling? :hugs:

Did you get my message?
