TBH i never look at the leader board, think i looked once and saw yours truly with an extraordinary load of posts and thought fuck me and pissed of quick. 
Last time I actually did check I think I was number 34. Not that I care about it.
As the story seems to go for now it looks like the only way for me is further down the list.

How have you not noticed? Itās been there over a year, users on here have been that desperate to get to number one that they spam posted and have tried to get others banned to get an advantage

Yes, I saw something similar when the leaderboard went public. For a brief moment I was even in third placeā¦
But I think itās easy to explain: the number of REALLY active users overall is surprisingly low. I put it this way back then: we are not giants, we are actually just little garden gnomes on an fairly short mown lawn

These numbers are not contribution figures.
As far as I could read, the numbers are made up of several criteria:
- read posts
- created posts
- received ālikesā
- given ālikeā
I donāt know what thatās ultimately good for. I donāt see any benefit in it either.
And to organize a ācompetitionā between users is more like kindergarten level.

You donāt need to post 5000 to be rewarded with 5000 points I just posting 14 hours a day It is about 120 Images for no other reason but because i liked to capture pictures I upload images all day which the New Year I will stop doing it so much I will start make it better quality pictures
That is one reason and also my English is not perfect, I donāt participate much in discussions only when necessary
