Not everyone has an Iphone, my super-old one was Siemens ME 45,
now I use a REDMI, so I-phone is not the only ones on the market.
The prize of iphone has to offer somewhat more than others. 
I am aware of that but most participants have indeed got an iPhone thatâs why I mentioned that particular brand
Some are but most are only shower proof which means if they get immersed in water they are fucked.
This can be easily tested. Simply dive into the water. If air bubbles rise and the phone sinks, it is not waterproofâŚ

Water resistant is very different from waterproof.
Items that are water resistant will repel the effects of water to a point. After a period of exposure, or a certain amount of pressure, water will either soak the item or seep through.

I honestly didnât think it would start a debate, I only originally answered to state that nothing would happen to most modern phones if dropped into water, I stated Appleâs information as that is what I see most participants use
No problem, no debate, iâm out 
Most new phones of well-known brands are rated IP68. IP68 rating, meaning itâs protected from dust getting inside and can withstand being submerged in at least 1 meter of water for 30 minutes. 
Until you drop them in water that is
